Long time lurker within this great community. The site has kept my spirits up, as like everyone, I’m having a tough time, with all the other shite going on. 50 sovs in the bin. Thanks to all the mods and ITK’s.

Also Prof/Galahad confirming that his cryptic yesterday was in relation to us getting an influx of money, as someone posted:

"makes me wonder if money is coming in from somewhere to cover this (Ings)"

To which Prof replied:

"If only Galahad had given us a clue ....", and then specifically quoted a post by another member:

"Given this weird feeling I have (thanks Galahad) this might just be a time when we are going a bit more all in than ENIC have traditionally done."

Makes sense Abramovich is ploughing in money this summer because it gets you value that wont be there once the big money returns. Enic are an investment company what better time to invest than when everybody needs the money.

It feels like ENIC are going all in for something. Finally realised we need to spend not just to stay still but to compete.

they spend when they feel they have to, which is when they think we are slipping. They are reactive, not proactive.

Even though there’s value out there atm as others have said, Ings is not an example of that. Dragon has been a lifeline this summer, and I hope he’s right in Edouard or WW coming in.

Coming back to ENIC,they signed two AMs in GLC and TN for not much less than 100m so I think we should accept that’s enough for now. Shame they both have fitness issues but I don’t think we can demand more signings in this area. I’d rather we drop Kane into a more creative 10 than further bloat the squad/wank more money away

Lingard is not a name that has ever come up , we have 8 wingers / number 9 now for 3 positions , Clarke and possibly sess wIll go on loan but even so

we are probably about to spend another 40 on a striker now and would still like a central def and mid So I just do not see it even when a few bodies leave the next few day

Wow!

As has been suggested, there has clearly been some type of investment in the background.

I know all ITK should be taken with the required SALT but by suggesting that we are 'probably' going to spend £40m on a striker leaves only two names from Dragon1's end if his info from previous days are anything to go by.

Exciting times.

I notice dragon says "when" a few bodies leave" I still think there'll be a bunch of outgoings by the end of the window.
Never took the Lingard story seriously anyway.

If this actually happens it would be close if not perfect window which is one hell of an achievement.

Think I'd prefer a defensive centre midfield instead of a creator now that Bale is with us.

I don’t see how Sess and Clarke can go out on loan as that’ll likely drop us below the HG quota. Of course if Ings and other English players are an option. It could change things.

Are we really considering spending 40m on a striker when we wouldn't go extra few mill for Wilson? We have had a very good window so far and just hard to believe we will spend that sort of money on top of what we've spent already.

The fuck is this money coming from? Did Uncle Joe bang his head and sell his yacht specifically for transfers or something?

We haven’t spent that much this summer though have we. Doherty and Hojbjerg were very reasonable costs, Bale hasn’t cost us a lot upfront, it’s only Regullion that’s actually a hefty chunk. So there currently doesn’t appear to be some startling cash injection as suggested by the ITK from Prof?

Pleasing to see that the links to Linegaard have been rejected as he is awful. Will be interesting to see if we actually do spend big on a striker before shifting the likes of Rose/Aurier/Foyth who we all know are available to go
