I'm on the edge of my seat, ready for the next thrilling installment of this roller-coaster white knuckle ride. The last time I was this excited was when I was watching a race between a glacier and a tectonic plate.

Pavard.

Following on from Herc saying there is interest.... Had a chat this morning with an agent based in Germany(says he knows Pavards agent). Said we have been watching him for a while and believes he is the one we have been looking at as the Toby replacement. Said Poch has been impressed with his versatility during the World cup and we are expected to firm up interest this week.

Caution with this one as the stuff I have heard from him before has been a mixed bag as far as being solid info. Not my usual source but thought I'd pass on just the same.

Versatility is a good point, the fact he can play CB, RB and DM means he can get plenty of games, and more importantly suggests he is comfortable on the ball which is just as important for a top CB these days.

Thanks for sharing Trix.

I assume the likes of De Ligt and possibly one or two others probably think they are our top choice too however, seems to be how we work.

That versatility is also useful in a back 3, where you can end up in any number of positions

Can’t say I’ve seen much past the WC and Youtube highlight reels. Looked very good for France but so did a certain other French player we recently signed………… he who shall not be named….. could be a coup if he is as good as the recent hype makes him out to be though!

Thanks for the ITK as always great to get some info :)

I personally really like the look of Pavard. As the right side CB in a back 3 (so Toby's spot) he'd be ideal. Good pace, good on the ball, good passing range. I don't see him as being elite in any area YET but with Poch's coaching he'd be a nice fit alongside Sanchez and Verts.

Interesting re Pavard, if we get him I would imagine he would want to be first choice. I can’t see him coming in to be 3rd choice CD. I’m also not sure how often we will be playing 3 at the back, I guess it depends on the rest of our summer business. It’s great that he can play right back but I would really like to see more of KWP, shame Pavard doesn’t play LB. really, I think De Ligt would be more sensible as I think he would be more willing to rotate with DS, but still Pavard is obviously qulity.

This certainly ticks the right boxes. We know that Poch prefers younger players, those skilful on the ball and those able to play in different positions. All those boxes ticked. Let's hope that there will be some movement soon!

Good info but how underwhelming are the words "firm up interest this week" at this stage....

Like the look of this kid. With Verts mentoring him and Sanchez, we’d potentially be set up for class CBs for the next 10 years

The biggest problem with that, IMO, is that it condemns us to another season of Dier in CM where we are crying out for some creativity.
PM me with what this has got to do with ITK and if its 500 words long (and good) I won't ban you.
