Someone mentioned Llorente being available for a smallish fee. If the Turin part holds any merit, that one's a possibility.

For me personally, I'd prefer we not pursue another 30ish aged striker who may or may not adapt.

I don't like what I hear of Ljajic' attitude, but I do quite like the player and very much hoped we'd sign him last summer. He can play any of the attacking positions, so he would work quite well in Poch's rotational attacking four system.

It is very interesting as to who/why or what Franco is doing in terms of Italian based players. In terms of CB it seemed Musacchio is priority, MS is who Poch wants for CM and not sure if it's him or no one added there. I'm assuming it's an attacker/forward. If not Destro, ignoring blind optimism of El Shaarawy, I'm guessing it's a low price, relatively unknown player. Just can't see us spending big on 3 players, it's kinda hard imagining it on two even.

I found the 2010 Deadline Day thread the other day- it was beautiful reading. @Archibald&Crooks said he thought it wouldn't go through (the day after), everyone was sad and then BOOM, it was announced.

I was on holiday the day it all happened and it wasn't until the day after, at a service station, I picked up a copy of the Sun and read about the VDV stuff. I've never been so flabbergasted.
