If we want to change our style of play, we might need to change our manager, or at least refresh the coaching team. In attack, I think Pep and Klopp both get more out of their players than Poch gets out of ours. I think we are now in a position to upgrade pretty much any position, including managers.
Fuck. Me.

I think we should not think too much into Poch flirting with the media on his future. He doesn't has an agent; he represents himself. And for someone who believes about universal energy, do you really think he is one to give a straight answer to an annoying question asked 1000x times before without contorting in some cryptic and ambiguity so as to sound 'philosophical'?

He is not just managing the squad of players, he is also managing the fans and our expectations. He said before he wanted us to have faith in him and the club, and not being swayed by what the media had portrayed. I feel it is a way of him gauging how much the board, and also the fans, stay true to his faith as he baits the media with such quotes.

Keep the doubts away from him and believe in him, I think with the mentality being built from the ground up from the fans to the club, the belief that yesterday's final was not a one-off can then be true, and he will be there with us.

There is a definite air of optimism around our ITK's even if they aren't saying we are getting this or that player there doesn't seem much doubt that they are are confident the players are coming, quite unlike previous years.
As for Eriksen I'd like to see him stay but reckon he will be off with the right offer however, I don't think that is the end of the world, we are well past the time when we can't deal with the loss of one influential player.

Your probably right

Whatever happens though, the ITK all seems to point to an interesting and exciting summer TW

I give the whole team a pas this season. Come on CL final was beyond our expectations in a season plagued by the late stadium build and having to play at soulless Wembley. Never mind a squad exhausted from the World Cup and no pre-season.

Hopefully the ITK is on the cautious side but suggesting a real strengthening / refreshing of the squad.

Don’t know why, but from JJ’s posts I get the feeling that Poch might have signed a new contract or at the very least has already told the club that he is here for the long haul.

The first thing I thought when I read that was Poch will sign a new contract.

Assuming this isn’t a joke, which it might be...

I don’t think you go far enough. I think we change stadium and name while we’re at it. Maybe just merge with Arsenal

Really?? He doesn't care??

Couldn't disagree more. He said after the defeat to Ajax that we were better than them and was clearly disappointed at losing. His reactions when we won were clearly of a player who was thrilled.

He's not the most of passionate players anyway, he's always quite dry with his humour but to say he doesn't care is nonsense IMO. He's not been at his best, through form or fatigue - nothing more to it than that.

He also became a Dad for the first time this time last year. It's not unusual to see that impact performances.

I’m uncomfortably numb by this.

THIS.

I think the media tried to portray his interview after the CL QF against Man City as a meaningfull comment. When asked what he would do if Spurs won the CL Final, he said "Go home!". He was then aske3d what he would do if he won the SF and he again said "Go home!". The media, trying to attract clicks and/or sell copy, suggested he may go back to Argentina. If you looked at the exchange he was smiling broadly, almost laughing. All it was was a silly answer to a silly question and too many people are still giving it credibility. I'm NOT ITK, but I'm calling the whole thing bollox!

Eriksen plays best when there are two beasts on top of their games in midfield (Dier & Dembele or Wanyama & Dembele) he hasn’t had that this season. We can’t deny he’ll be a big loss as will Toby leaving. Apart from Kane I would say Dembele/Toby/Eriksen& Jan have probably been our most important players over the whole Poch project. It’s going to hurt us when they have all gone and will cost us a fortune to replace properly.

If we sell Eriksen then I hope we buy Lo Celso and another creative midfielder. Otherwise we will be in exactly the same situation as we have been all season.

There are so many positions we need to upgrade it's worrying.
Lo Celso and Bale
Ndembele or Madison
Sess bros

That should progress the squad

this is exactly what im worried about, I can't see us doing all this in one window, failure to add last summer means we are one step back when it comes to recruiting in numbers

Before people start coming out with BS numbers has anybody/can somebody please work out just how much we can spend on tranfers with our turnover under FFP rules ?

Well you’d also have to work out the money we will receive from player sales and we won’t know that until the outgoing transfers happen.

Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist? The ITK says "should he leave" I'm sure that pretty much everywhere is an option "should" he leave and we all know that if he's not backed he'll be off
