Personally I still think we need Leandro (a goalscoring #9) in addition to Ade and Remy.

Ade as #9, Leandro as back-up/competition #9, and Remy as right forward in place of Lennon.

Fletcher is a nice shout, but Remy covers two spots on the team allowing for more money to be allocated for other positions. It also allows for an extra guy to be on the bench on game days.

Jack of all trades aren't always a good philosophy to use at a position that is a source of goals, but I think in Remy's case it should be ok. He also works in a 433 and 4231.

In other words, he's not a faptastic signing unless he turns into Henry, but Spurs have a budget and the Falcao's of the world are above it. Now, if Defoe is sold I have no idea who the 3rd striker would be unless they view VDV as that guy.

Can certainly see the logic - but if the main striker is injured, them Remy goes into the centre (maybe knackered from playing all the games so far and with CL/Premiership we are talking 60 games a season) with Lennon/Townsend/Pienaar whoever on the right.

Hmmm,,, I come back to whether Remy is really better than a Fletcher in that position - and maybe how big an uograde on Lennon.

And £20m or 20m Euros.

Fletcher maybe £10m...and money to spend elsewhere on the team whilst you mention economics !

All I have seen and heard of Remy suggests he is better as a central striker, I guess we will have to judge for ourselves (should we get him of course). Could well be a case similar to Henry, that in this league he could well be deadly as a centre forward

I can't say I disagree with anything you've said. It's all very valid and given the money myself I'd probably spend it differently. Im sure Levy and Harry have their reasons.

I'd love to wake up and read that Adebayor, Damiao, Ganso and Vertonghen all signed for Spurs. Levy's pretty stingy with his deadwood prices whereas I'm an impatient fan.

Which of course is what I want to hear - but so many people talk about him as being best a right winger. Everyone would love the Henry scenario...... but worried that the majority of people saying he is a right winger who can play centrally (but not maybe as well as a Fletcher) might be right....and in which case we could be in trouble because our no 3 striker might be either Saha (experienced but injury prone) or Kane (great potential but unfair on him if he has to be main man when no 1 striker is injured and Remy turns out to be not a centrak striker).

But maybe I am being over cautious.....

I think everyone would dream of that.. and then wake up to reality !

My reality is imo a good striker (Ade or Leandro) and a back up striker (Fletcher or similar price) to live within the money (both transfer fees and wages) we can afford.

The logic in your response should be similar to Levy's (and possibly Harry when he Levy talks to him about economics) so don't understand us chasing Remy at £20m ! Unless Levy has found a way to do the impossible and get Remy and 2 strikers for not a lot !

Every summer we talk about so many signings or potential signings as being 'in place of Lennon'. I bet my left bollock that, as long as he's fit, Lennon will be in the starting lineup for our first game.

He will probably sign Michael Owen on a free to save for the Remy fee...

And the Remy 20m is probably in €, not £. Just a guess.

Logical for a French club but most of the press reports quote £20m. Marseille bought him from Nice for € 16 m and as he has scored many more goals there than at Nice and at 25 is almost at his peak suspect fear that £20m might be the asking price that Levy is trying to whittle down.

The player we should buy from Brum, is there young GK Jack Butland the next J Hart

Possibly, he is very highly touted. Think I'd prefer someone more experienced as our next keeper though, Butland is maybe a couple of years off and it's such a vital position.

Steven Fletcher. Relatively cheap. Battering ram. Big, strong, great in the air. Has a slight nasty streak, something we seriously lack up front. Someone with attitude.
I'd be very please with him as 3rd choice.
