Pretty sure Jol went behind Levy's back and whored himself to Newcastle while he was still our manager, so relations with Levy were heavily strained so our poor start to the season gave Levy the excuse he needed

Allegedly. It's never been fully explained—for a start, it's never been made clear if the approach was made in early 2006, when Souness was on the way out, or when Roeder got the bum's rush at the close of the following season. If the latter—which seems rather more likely—Jol's position was already under threat; there were rumours that he and Comolli weren't seeing eye to eye in summer 2006, and it was widely rumoured that Fatso Kemsley wanted Jol out and Harry in. In those circumstances, it's hard to blame Jol for sounding out possible future employment.

What's beyond doubt is that once Kemsley and Alexander were rumbled talking to Ramos, elements at the club launched a character assassination programme via tame ITKs (Dragon1 and BEN) and pals in the press. It was highly unsavoury and frankly disgraceful; it was still going on in summer 2008 when 'insiders' from Ramos' training camp informed the saddoes who'd followed the squad to Spain that under Jol the players had been hopelessly unfit. Needless to say, when everything went spectacularly tits-up after the season started, we had no more of this bollocks.

But as Dirty Ewok and Loaderspurs have pointed out, Levy's no more trigger-happy than your average chairman/owner in the EPL, and it's pretty rich for fans to complain about the turnover when they (or some of them) are the first to voice dissatisfaction. Many of us felt Jol got a raw deal, but a very substantial minority felt he needed replacing; I'd say that only a minority supported Harry, despite his being arguably the best manager since Nicholson, and certainly Burkinshaw. I'm in the minority who wouldn't have been distraught had Sherwood been kept on, because I'm really not 100% convinced that Pochettino and de Boer will do any better (van Gaal might have been a different matter).

It's mainly opinion but I suppose it staves off boredom, came after the Trix ITK
Guys little to no chance of Shaw or Lallana, we are keen but can you imagine the wages these guys be offered elsewhere we would not be able to compete and we are not there first choices.

No new news on Manager front, think this will run for 2 more weeks

Can we ignore that latest bit of itk? Was getting excited about shaw. Don't want to see rose do the worst impression of a left back that I have ever seen again next season.

Why? Unless you've been messing around with naughty mind-altering drugs, you surely didn't think there was the slightest chance he'd come to us, did you?

And no, I shan't be a happy bunny if Rose is our LB next season either.

No not lately, and I know there is almost no chance, but clinging onto that glimmer of hope that we may have a proper LB next season helps me sleep at night. Even if it does use our entire transfer budget.

No, I said that bit, the quoted stuff was from Ali Z.

Basically a few people got a bit over excited, thinking that it was Lallana or Shaw that this "agent" was jabbering on about
Probably Rodriguez holding out from signing a new contract until Poch situation is 100% clear.
