Ah so that’s all a bit meh.

Time to get prepared for disapointment. Starting to hear the usual noises we get at the end of the window.

Prof:

• Still working on one that we'd like to get in before the deadline. Feeling as of last night is that it's 60:40.
• The other one has somewhat stalled, so unless the selling club come back to us prepared to compromise, it won't happen this window.
• There's one other iron in the fire - a long shot for a young player, but lots of hurdles to getting this one done in time.

Nice bit of ITK, glass half full approach is at least we are still working on a few things and 60/40 odds are in our favour moreso than less so as they say ‘so you’re telling me there’s a chance’

So, I'm not going to criticise your post, or trash your negativity, or indulge in righteous indignation at the doom-laden mood music you love to play.

I'm going to celebrate your post for the harbinger it surely is.

The young player news excites me more tbf. Yes we need ready made players now but if we can pick up players who can turn into stars now it saves us on recruitment in the future!!

All summer we have heard that there is a clear plan. I would love to hear from the ITKs whether Odobert was the first choice or lower down the list because he looked like a great fit for the team today.

Hopefully similar to Vicario and VDV last summer. We have a profile of players we want and we get the ones we can get. Even if maybe not the "first choice" they're still good players who improve the team and fit the system.

Much more sensible and sustainable way of doing things IMO, both financially and in the sporting sense.

Agree. The other good thing is that the ITK indicates we are not just focusing on a single player and have options available so as to not stagnate.

Yep. Wasting weeks chasing a player and then finding ourselves in the last week of the window, scrabbling for options from a pool no longer containing anyone who really fits the need after rejection/missing out is something I haven't missed these last 3 or 4 windows tbh.
