Today was scary in terms of how our threat was slightly diminished when Bale went off and fully diminished when Lennon went off. Getting some fast players in to sit on the bench behind these two is certainly not a bad idea.

Pienaar's not the fastest but he's full of energy. I think he'd be an alright signing. You'd think he'd play a bit like how Modric did on the left for us.

Daft punk wrote a song comparing Carroll to Crouch. They called it 'harder better faster stronger'

People getting more desperate after our first defeat in twelve

Even if we do get a top striker in, we're still going to lose some games and play badly at times. The 'we need a new striker' line has been used for so long now as an excuse for us losing. I wonder what we'll be crying out for when we finally sign a striker

I bet Pav would have been onside for the ball across Bale played.

Some actual transfer news from the BBC

2238: Interesting news for Birmingham and Tottenham fans, by the way - Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed a £7m transfer for Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane to St Andrew's has been sorted, with the move now down to the player.

Yet he wouldn't have set up VDV like Crouch did, so the score would remain the same

He would have gotten back to clear Coleman's header of the line though, and he would have tackled Saha in the second minute, so we would have won 1-0 with him as the match winner.

The beheading of Jenas or Crouch live in the middle of WHL.

Hope that wink means you were joking. Anyone who has played football knows that Bale should have carried the ball further before passing to Crouch. Crouch's movement was perfect

A bit of both but Crouch certainly went to early, by going as early as he did he essentially forced the pass from Bale. He should have shown for the pass but held the line knowing that he would have been offside when Bale passed it.

It was very poor for a striker imo.

Carroll was in the stands watching the Newcastle game. Combined with those twitter comments, I think its certain he's not coming to Spurs.
