I do. Evra has had his day and has been on the downturn for a couple of seasons now. Like I said, only A.Hole has any argument in favour of him being better than Ekotto in this league. Ekotto's only real regular downside is that he does stand off a little, but I can't think of many modern fullbacks who aren't guilty of this. He is also a great passer out of defence, very good on the ball, brilliant at sweeping behind on the rare occasions that a ball is played between our centre backs and is never outpaced by a winger when any ball played is in behind him.

Agreed.

The one thing that I love about Ekotto is when he drops the shoulder and cuts in ever so slightly whilst feigning to go the over way...it works every single time and opens the game right up.

Not sure if we even need a super star striker, can't we just
get someone a bit like linekar of old. an old fashioned goal
hanger , Surely there must be someone out there that can be
in the right place at the right time, With our width and pace it's
not essential for a hold up player really.

You fancy Kevin Phillips

Benzema deal back on? Yes please, I think at the right club this kid could be dynamite, Like Van Der Vaart's excellent start to life at Spurs, I think Benzema could follow in the same footsteps and be a massive impact here.

I take it you missed last summers World Cup?

Was Evra any worse than Ekotto who was, along with Bassong, absolute dog shit for Cameroon? Along with a whole host of top players who also didn't perform?

Or the 2009 league cup final for that matter.

You have to go back to 2009 for the last time Evra had a domestic shocker whereas we only have to go back two league games to remember the horror of Ekotto vs Everton.

Maybe that might tell you something a little bit about the absurd nature of your claim.

'Not bad but not exactly great', in other words he has been steady. Unlike Ekotto who has been brilliant at times, and awful at others. I know which kind of full back I'd raher have.

I don't recall Lennon scaring him much when we played them three days ago.

It's well known that Evra hates playing against Lennon - Lennon has run rings around him in the past, and got past him three or four times on Sunday as well.

Ekotto is having a great season, after a very good one last year.

Are you actually watching the games or just believing what Sky/Hansen/Fantasy Football valuation says?

I am constantly having to convince my Spurs supporting mates of Ekotto's quality, and it does my head in that some people refuse to see it, and see one mistake every few matches as an excuse to slate him.

Benny's probably had 1 or 2 bad games, that is all. I honestly wouldn't swap him for Evra, that is my opinion. I think he is working well in tandem with Bale and all these calls for him to go just smacks of 'the grass is greener'. Have we had a better left back in the last 20 years? Yet people still want to replace him because he had a bad night against Everton and isn't catching all the headlines like the other players?

I recognize his quality, I'm just saying he was rank against Everton and there is no way he can be considered on the same level as Evra until cuts those kind of catastrophic performances from his game.

Yes, it tells me that I watch far more of Ekotto than I do of Evra, and have done throughout their time in this country, because one plays for the team I don't miss a single minute of and the other plays for a team who I only see when they play us or if their involved in a particularly exciting match on the tubovisuabox.

Personally I just cant see how anybody who watches enough of Spurs can genuinely not rate Ekotto.

I think he's the best LB in the League at present. I wouldn't be surpised if there is real interest in him come the summer.

I don't want to replace him (yet) I'm just saying he's not on the same level as Evra.

I think your views concerning BAE are heavily clouded by the performace vs everton. You talk about having to go back two years for evras last bad performance, would you change your views with regards to BAE then if it hadnt have been for that performance vs everton?

He hasnt had many bad games himself you know - your definetly going ott.

Evra is world class and has proved his quality consistently at very the highest level. Ekotto has been very good overall but he has had some shocking moments at times, far too many for him to be considered anyting but a good full back, not great like Evra and Cole, but still better than most which is enough for me at this moment in time.
