You know what, I've reflected on this. But still can't really figure it. Neville is a tenacious little terrier. He also brings leadership qualities. But in no other way does this make sense. I understand why Corluka (way, and I mean way, too slow to be a RB) and Hutton (decent, aggresive, attacking but defensively not the quickest or smartest) need to be upgraded but they need to be upgraded, not backed up or replaced with with another flawed and aged RB.
Neither Neville, nor Peinaar, are the type of players that will increase our ability to challenge for titles or top4's with the likes of Arse, Chelsea, ManC, ManU etc.
Surely any players we bring in now should be improvements that relegate existing players down the pecking order.
Perhaps Walker is seen as the future, making one of Hutton, Corluka dispensable? Sell either for a decent fee and get PN as adequate back up for next to nothing for this season, whilst offering cover at LB (BAE plays every game)
Didn't the first half vs Charlton show that a player like Pienaar is required? Harry wouldn't to have wanted to play Modric (not that Pienaar is anyway as good). Didn't I also read some time back that Harry wanted players comfortable on the ball that could play all over the pitch??
