OK take a break from the wrist slitting and negativity while I bring you round-up filled with wrist slitting and well, complete negativity.

Yesterday's utterings began with POTL

Bentley to Brum almost complete- rejected move to Newcastle after initial loan fee was agreed.
Keane still refusing to go to B'ham. Hammertime could be around the corner- offering money now with more if they stay up. DL wants all money upfront.
Gio off to Italy on loan- 3 clubs to choose from.
Townsend off on loan this week.
Becks has arrived for Medical- DL still pushing for loan move- nothing to do with insurance- more about when Galaxy want him back.

Everyone still fancy a striker??

POTL

Once you have lived in a captial city, one tends to remain living in a captial city- country an irrelevance.

Plenty to digest but the bit about Capital cities resulted in 60 pages of guesswork and my money is on the following theory. It's his signature. Anyone still fancy a striker? Well as it happens, yeah, I do. That blonde one who plays for England Ladies. Back Doors. Smashed. In.

Storts tried to address the negativity with this..........

The negativity in this thread is ridiculous. Firstly we will under no circumstances be signing Carlton Cole. You really think our chairman and manager believe him to be better than what we have? Secondly deals are well under way and Daniel is doing a great job as usual, the squad is being trimmed in preparation for those coming in, he knows where our weakness' are and they will be adressed. And for what it's worth, I expect to see Suarez at Tottenham.
This is why sometimes stepping back, taking several deep breaths and following a sensible train of thought does the world of good. So come on, no more Lemming-like panic.

Another new ITK then posted this.

With all of the ITK and POTLs cryptic I put a call in and just got this back. Everyone a bit tight lipped at the club, which in his words "usually means we going for a biggy or very close". However he did get confirmation we are in for Suarez after Broomfields reports
Diarra is still first choice DM, but Muntari is now on the radar as back up. I asked if Suarez not considered a biggy who is? he said " Not a clue, but there is money and Levy is ready to spend"

Still interest in Russian and French midfielders.

He also said Keanes move to Fulham could be on but Harry not happy if he plays in the cup. Still more loan outs to be done including Townsend.

Beckham is an insurance and length of loan thing, Harry wants 12-18 month deal, but secretly quite pleased at the moment because he is getting best of both worlds in that he is passing his knowledge, but doesn't take up a squad place.
Lets just say the jury is out on this one.

Another update from CM told us that........

Suarez is the one we are after. Lukaku is a second option however Anderlecht want silly money.

Trying to do a deal for Pienaar. And like I said before Walker went to Villa we are still pursuing A.Young!

QPR want Townsend on loan but so do 3 or 4 other championship clubs.

Woody should also leave on loan very soon.

Becks deal still very complicated. Harry also interested in getting him in as a coach once his playing days are over!
Beckham will be looking for a coach himself if he keeps knocking out the kids at his current rate.

Pablo told us that........

pay no longer an issue..beckham will take whatever paycut necessary for terms of loan.

la galaxy want him back feb 10...spurs say no use unless march 15...that is the guts of the issue
I thought Harry said money wasn't an issue on Day 1? I'm not so sure about this Galaxy wanting him back bit. I can't remember it ever being an issue before? There's more to all of this than meets the eye. IMO of course.

JTG then went on the record..........

For the record ...been told:

Billy Smarts Beckam circus has hi jacked this window and a Spurs insider I know fears the opportunity cost is going to be massive window wise

No where near signing a forward (sorry POTL ) lots of talk agents putting out loads of radio traffic, applies to Suarez, Adebayor (despite the fact City are desperate to sell and might even entertain us as a destination )Carlton Cole , etc...main reason being no permanent deals for Bentley Keane and Dos Pony and Levy won t flash the cash off the back of loans and no one will agree to a price for the deal to become permanent

Ashley Young stories no foundation , did say Phil Neville story might have legs as there might be a permanent deal for Corluka at Juve

Levy is going to be opportunistic this window which means he could do nothing unless the price and deal is right
Which will have certain members slitting their wrists all over again. The agenda is there, for all to see in sentence No1......Nice to see JTG apologising to POTL for the content of his info. Now if he'd just be so kind as to extend that to the rest of us, that would be nice.

And so we come to the end of today's round-up. A wild ride. A bit like Oddie's sister. Except you get to have a fag at the end of it. If we can find Flatters that is.

Now it's up to you of course, but a small donation toward the upkeep of SC would be nice. So dig deep, every £1 counts and every donation is appreciated. So be nice, click on the button and bring some feelgood into your life.

I posted this in the last thread but in regards to his ITK post (dont want to bash just want to point out some things)

It was just 10 ten days ago that Harry came out and said that Levy wants a special signing and has the money to pay for it, which the bit about Levy being "opportunistic" just doesnt make sense to me. Also we all knew that no-one would BUY Bentley or Dos Santos in January, those were loans with an option to buy at best with how cautious clubs are in Jan, the only one that looked a pure sale was Robbie Keane because all parties want out and, by all accounts, that can go through soon-ish, and if we knew that, Levy definitely knows it.

Also, I know the paper is nothing to go by but the recent ITK goes against almost every other one posted recently and all the links regarding Suarez.

How does jtg still count as an itk when for around 4 years he has got nothing right and been almost contradictory to the ITKs we regard as good?

Before fazza reads this and tops himself let's all remember that valenciayid, POTL, rebrab, ryan, storts & corlukamodric all seem to be much more in the know than jtg and all point to Levy being very proactive this window as you expect

As I said on yesterdays thread. Kevin Bond was interviewed on talk sport yesterday. He said he'd be very surprised if we didn't get someone in this window. Said Harry hadn't told him targets( yeah right) but always has someone up his sleeve. I'm not worried about the latest itk. Levy loves the club and it's probably harry's last shot at the league so can't see them jepardising things this window.

JTG, does get info.I believe most of his comes through media contacts. So even though he is privy to info, it might not come directly from spurs.

Can't see the beckham stuff distracting levy and co. They will have had plans for the window before this arose. JTG does paint the picture that we are very disorganised.

Cheers for the roundup A&C

Can't see this Beckham issue preventing us from signing other players during this window tbh. I personally feel once a few players are moved out on loan, we'll start making moves in regards to new signings.

Anyone who thinks we put everything into one transfer at a time needs their heads examined. I hate when people suggest that our persuit of a striker should render every other potential transfer on hold. It clearly doesn't work like that. I'm sure we have many things going on atm, and to suggest that we might have lost out on a striker now when it's only the 11th of the month is even more ridiculous. Then there's the mention of Carlton Cole alongside Adebayor and Suarez.

You can't make it up. Or can you

I do think that we are working on things all the time and that the level of player that we are interested in is going to be someone that a number of other clubs would loke to try and buy as well. The Modric deal was a bit of a special one as that did seem to happen out of the blue and was anounced in between the transfer windows before the Euro's. Unless you have loads of money (City) January isn't the best time to buy world class players as they normally are at a club that is trying to win the league or a cup and don't want to sell. Every so often you can pick up players where a club is in turmoil and needs the money (Pompey), but more often than not your looking at a list of Phil Neville's and Carlton Cole's! On a brighter side Liverpool could be this years turmoil team so a bid for Torres wouldn't go a miss!

I'm sure the club are trying. It's refreshing a bit that we aren't the mugs going gung ho to sign players. We're just so used to Spurs being the most active side in the transfer windows due to constant new managers and their need to bring in their own shit players, that we're getting a bit obsessed.

Yes we need a striker, but it has to be the right one. We dont have the ability to spend 20m on a striker and he not work out. City signed Adebayor, he didn't work out, they get Dzeko for more money. We can't do that. This signing has to be the one. And that's why our management are reluctant to just give it on any old mug

I choose to believe JTG. Wallow in self-despair. Then be all happy and pleasantly surprised when we sign an uber-striker.

jurgenthegerman is, like Pablo, an ITK through links within the football media. That means any info he gains is something that's in the public domain or just about to be - the times he's been right have been newspaper headlines the next day.

If we're being careful with a particular deal or two and trying to arrange things on the quiet, we will be very careful not to reveal it to the media, so it's not surprising to me that JTG thinks we're not doing anything. The ITKs closer to the club have repeatedly told us that's not the case, so I'm not reading too much into this one.
