Cheers for the response, I've always been more of an observer. I like to watch others make fools of themselves rather than make a fool of myself. Your input is more valuable than mine though and always appreciated...

you talking bout me? :cautious:

As for Leandro, I'm not really too bothered either way. I like the thought of having a Brazilian number 9, but if i'm totally honest I don't really know if he is any good or not.

Here here! I too was excited by the thought of having a Brazilian number 9 at the lane, but from the (albeit limited) games I've seen him play in I'm convinced there are more suitable targets for us. In Baldini we trust?

I thought Baldini was a fan of Leandro? According to JJ anyway.

I think it's going to be hard for us to improve an already very good squad. People need to remember we are not in the Champs League and don't have an endless pot of Russian/Arabic money.

A players ability doesn't decrease because you have targetted him too long

If AVB believes he needs leandro then I want us to get him, no.matter how long it takes

i've only watched damiao on the odd occasion for brazil but it's not like he's been tearing it up so much for inter that we absolutely must sign him and throw £15m+ at them. 39 in 91 league/libertadores games, it's a nice record, not amazing. i hope we just scrap this move now, get bernard and villa or something.

I feel we will regret scrapping this move if we did

Not for one second saying the bloke's ability has decreased over the last couple of years, or that Baldini doesn't rate him. Just saying our interest in completing this ridiculously complicated deal has dwindled, and the player won't be at WHL come September. That certainly isn't 'balls'.

Not being in the CL is obviously a blow to our transfer dealings. But it isn't the be all and end all. We are a well financed club based in a fantastic city, playing in the most watched league in the world (in which we've finished in the top 5 for the past 4 seasons). We have one of the best training grounds in sport today, and we offer an exclusive - the chance to play alongside the worlds' fastest rising star in Gareth Bale. Attracting players is not the difficult part - getting deals over the line at the price clubs/players demand is.

I literally cannot believe we're all still talking about Leandro. Dullest transfer saga ever!

I was trying to put an end to it, but I don't think people are interested. I hope he signs for Napoli or someone soon, otherwise we'll still be talking about it come August 31st when we 'narrowly miss out with a last minute bid' according to SSN.

Either yido is wrong and we are closing in on Damiao or he's right and we've walked away in which case we must be all over other striker deals and if we've walked away we must be optimistic on one or more of them.
Reasons to be cheerful part 3 as my old mate Ian used to say.

From all collected ITK it seems Damiao/Internacional want a transfer to take place, just his filth monkey agent the stumbling block.
For us to progress we simply must move on from this deal, if his agent continues to play silly buggers then we cannot keep getting strung along, if we move on to other targets, find buyers for Defoe/Dempsey and say 8 weeks down the line we find ourselves in a similar situation to the Lloris one, If nobody has put a reasonable bid in for Damiao, and both his agent and club are now wanting a move, then this should be the only time we bite again, can only see a deal happening under these circumstances... and by that time he will be bought as back up to Mario Gomez :sneaky:

I can't help think that for Yidio to end a self imposed exile to say 'it ain't happening' must be pretty conclusive that Leandro won't happen.
And then I think 'but what if Baldini could make the difference?' and it's back to square one.
It's the circle of life... ;)

No. It's the circle of being a Spurs supporter. Surely, no other fans goe through this torturous shite (or do they?).
