I don't think he'll expect, or get, too many games unless we have a CB injury crisis to end all CB injury crises.

An injury to Sandro and we wouldn't need all that many CBs out if we wanted to cover his position with Vertonghen and keep experience in the back line. Huddlestone's form and fitness this season has to be considered a risk, and I'd imagine that Villa-Boas would feel more comfortable in a passing game with Verts there instead of Parker.

Dunno, it does all sound a bit pick-a-Portuguese-player-and-link-him-to-Spurs lazy, but it isn't too left-field, I think. (Not that you said it was, SS57.)

Edit: So that's another way into the team, and a few more games.

Higuain's dad was called el pipa cause of his nose, and now Gonzalo is called Pipita. Pipa means pipe in Spanish so GH is "little pipe".

God damn this could b some window, all this itk and we would still need another striker, has to b a fair few departures. Going to have one help of a midfield to chose from.

Wow, doesn't that sound familiar! ;)

Just to save everyone (me included) from themselves.

Mourinho: “Higuain will stay!”

“Higuain is staying here. He will stay at Madrid because I don’t want him to go. He has an excellent contract here that runs for many more years.” Mourinho said for ABC TV.
“And Madrid have no intention to sell either. Even if clubs offer 40, 50 or €60 million, we will not sell him. My two strikers for next season will be Benzema and Higuain.”
Higuain scored 22 times this season in 34 Primera league matches. He has a contract with Galacticos until 30.06.2016.

Brother: He won’t leave Real Madrid!

Higuaín’s brother, Federico: “My brother, Gonzalo, is not going to leave Real Madrid. The players have signed Higuaín’s shirt to show him how much they appreciate him and that they don’t want him to leave.”

I might be reading too much into this, but doesn't that hashtag (putthatinyourpipeandsmokeit) look a little bit out of context?

It's also strikingly similar to one of JJ's tweets from last week:

The original JJetset@jetsetyid
@etchedchaos Smoking Pipes! dream

which was in response to:

Garry Drury@etchedchaos
@jetsetyid Will do. So Higuain eh? Pipedream?

see where I'm going with this.....?

I do believe there is something more to the Modric transfer than just a straight cash deal

Be that a player exchange that includes someone mega like Higuain, or a bit more realistic like Sahin, this ITK from a week ago or so does support this hunch...

Which suggests to me that Higuain wants out though!

This was before RVP wanted out, so his addition could change things.

Agree, maybe a years loan of decent player and 20 mill cash?

I doubt Levy would accept such a low amount with only a loan player coming the other way.

Was thinking more along the lines of £25m + Sahin? Higuain would be a dream though, I'd even do a straight swap with him for Luka

We'll end up with Carvalho lol

I still can't believe anyone could honestly think Higuain would ever come to Tottenham
