Granted but as things stand we dont know if its the closure of Spurs Lodge or from another area of the club, or even confirmed numbers...
I just thought it might give some legs to the idea that the club could be being bought, change of ownership and all that jazz... Shot in the dark i guess, thanks for the clarification...

I'll shut up now ;)

To me its too early in a tumoured takeover for office staff to be reduced whereas we know the training ground is being closed - which is why put the idea forward. But I could be wrong.

Hope your TUPE experience went well - always a stressfull experience !

One hypothetical is that maybe we were quite away down the line with potential new owners to the point of almost finalising and they didn't see Harry as the man to guide the club into a new era and got Levy to get rid so that they weren't the bad guys when they officially took over. Highly unlikely obviously but maybe not impossible.

Also if Levy does stay on as chairman then he would have made the decision regardless I guess

But this all hinges on and if we are being brought out at all, and it was hinted at earlier it may be more of a % investment rather than than buy out so that means all of the above is utter rubbish, which it was really - Sorry for wasting your time!

I fear you're drifting into the realms of fantasy here.

Not sure we would get a player doing a medical in the middle of a takeover/major investment. Especially with no manager in place. Hmmm seems to be an awful lot going on anyway.

No problem with player acquisotion - usually a clause in the contract says the management continue to run the company in the normal way (although often any major acquisitions would be discussed).

If the manager were soon to be agreed, it may well be Levy talked to the new incoming manager. Bit of a balancing act, but would you prefer to sign no players (and miss out on some perhaps) or progress negotiations on player acquisitions so they can be signed directly a manager gets involved (and maybe signing top players like a CB Vertanghen). I would sure prefer to progress a number of acquisitions rather than us do nothing ! ;)

Without doubt I would rather we sign players just a bit confused with everything that's going on.

Time will tell or JJ ;)

What do you think we did in 1961?
Bought players who we could afford from money generated from football, and a great manager knitted them together. So we did it better than our similarly-financed rivals at the time. If you can't see the difference between that and the Chelski/Citeh scenario then I pity you.

saw photo of Sigurdsson having successfully completed his medical in a Spurs top

From the ITK. Much as i'd like it to be true, why exactly would he put on a Spurs top for a private medical?

I have been a member for over 10 years now. When I had time I even wrote a few article for the site but I haven't posted anything for a while. Long story short, the new manager is AVB. I have never claimed ITK before but I have a connect. Extremely close to the proverbial "horse". Too late to bet on it, if you're that way inclined as the odds are shit.
I have never bullshited before, nor flamed nor claimed any ITK etc. Trust me it's AVB.

^This from the manager thread. The idea that some long dormant, old sage of the forum has GOT THE CALL and comes out of retirement for one last shot at the big time... ok, you get my drift... it's quite quaint nonetheless and strangely more compelling than Johnny Godknowswho proclaiming 'It's is so...' or similar.

Also whilst JJ is untouchable, one can't help enjoy the extensive ultra-positive ramblings of Akqayid; a veritable full bag of pick 'n' mix from the THFC ITK world.

You don't lay off staff for a buyer. They make their own decision. If you pare yourself down too far then there is no modifications to your business model they can make to fix the problem. Thus making you not attractive to purchase. A company would always prefer to buy a bloated carcass of a company and find quick profits in cutting staff.

So it sounds as if we are incurring downsizing, most likely its because we had a bloated staff and need to cut after our second straight year of not have CL revenue.

Nothing catastrophic. But nothing any of want to hear. And a damn shame for the people getting cut.

I wonder if selling % of TFC, would be to the Irish mafia consortium that somebody mentioned the other day, did a couple of them not have shares in UTD in the past.

We?
I wasn't there in '61 - I'm still allowed to cling to my idealistic moral high ground about there being a proper way of doing things.

Could be. Think they'd prefer majority ownership in that case...

Possibly

Harry Enfield?? :)

I'm interested to know though, putting money in usually means wanting more money out...how will this happen?

I'm by no means an expert on this Steve, but as I see it the investment should go a long way to bankrolling the new stadium. Spurs have been a money making enterprise, under Levy, for quite a few years now with a 36K stadium. A 55-60K stadium would see a massive increase in revenue which, we all hope, will lead to greater success on the pitch meaning greater exposure to the World market and the marketing revenue that can be exploited there. This would then increase the money in the coffers and provide increased dividends, as well as increase the stock value.

I am still of the opinion that DL's vision is to put us up in the top 5 biggest clubs in the World. If he can sell this vision to an investor then it's hardly surprising they'd want a piece of the action. His track record suggests that he has the ability to do just that too.

Thinks it's a typo. From what I've heard he was actually carrying a Spurs holdall while having his balls fondled by a gloved up Levy.
