White ball cricket is becoming so much about the slower ball that it's getting even further away from test cricket.

Bairstow, Roy dropped for NZ.

Sibley, Crawley, Parkinson, Mahmood called up.

Some good calls there. excited to see Crawley and Sobley get a chance. glad we’ve dropped Bairstow, might serve as a wake up call for him.

Still a bit bemused by the treatment of Foakes but there we go.

Interested to see Parkinson, always quite excited by seeing new spinners get a go. who knows, this one might even turn the ball a bit.

Yes, Foakes has a batting average of over 40 and is s good keeper. Can only think it might be a personally issue. Good to see some new faces being given a chance at last. Shame about Roy but his technique was all at sea for the red ball game.

For those of you who haven’t watched Sibley bat...couple him up with Burns and we’ve got the ugliest looking opening partnership ever.

He has a batting average in tests from his small exposure of over 40 but he's actually had a really poor season with the bat for Surrey, I'm guessing that is why he hasn't been picked. I would have taken him as backup though as I'm not sure how good a keeper Pope is (he is now the reserve).

Parkinson is an interesting choice on what will likely be green, seam bowler friendly wickets but he may just be there for the experience and if we are sensible then we wont do a Mason Crane on him.

I am just thankful that the penny has finally dropped and we go into a rebuilding phase, instead of just recycling some of the same old failures. Probably a bit like Spurs at the moment!

Just wanted to let everybody know that at twentyfive minutes past five today Essex County Cricket Club won the 2019 County Championship for the second time in three years having won the T20Blast final last Saturday.
If you watch the tele or listen to the radio you probably wouldn't have heard.
Well done Essex, Champions!

I've been bouncing around the place all evening and this morning! First double winners in history. We really are doing something special at Essex and long may it continue

No doubt we'll get relegated next season

Happy with the selection of more top order batsman, if they work out or not is another matter but they stand a much better chance if they are playing in the top order and doing well for there county’s rather than pushing middle order batsman up the order or picking a player on his white ball form

Fantastic for Essex. To win the double is amazing. I hope Ravi stays with us for another year.

In other news, Sarah Taylor has retired from International cricket, citing anxiety issues. she’s struggled in recent times with that. a fantastic wicket keeper, as good as anyone I’ve seen. a shame, especially when England women’s cricket is looking pretty weak.

So then, the much championed "100" draws ever closer to "The Draft", I can't understand why we've got contracted red ball players in the first draft, surely they should be putting up the white ball players? Admittedly the majority play white ball cricket as well but even so....

What shit names and kits the teams have! In the 100 Also wtf is going on with the sponsorships of the teams!

Yeah the names and kits are like what a group of 7-year-old American kids would come up with if you gave them too many sweets and fizzy drinks first. Absolutely shocking.

And as for the sponsors, I'm right in thinking they're all brands of crisp-type things right? And of course London has "Tyrels" ffs. Posh southern wankers ;)

Were KP Snacks the only company that offered to sponsor this format?
