Why are the women there?... to make the sandwiches?

Joking of course...is this hundred thing mixed genders then?
Of course it isn't mixed genders. That would make the 100 a mildly interesting format and the ECB doesn't want that.

Silverwood? Not the most inspiring choice and from an outsider’s perspective I’m pretty underwhelmed.
The reference to him knowing the boys etc makes me think there probably won’t be that much that’ll change.

Decided to check in on the Hundred draft. You'd have thought with the amount of money the ECB is throwing at this they could have made it look more like an American sports draft and less early evening ITV game show.

Couple of players I’m really surprised didn’t picked up, I know he had an average WC but no Gayle???

Agreed. The whole thing is bizarre. Apparently, each team has a non-playing player who is someone used in promotional material but won't actually play for the team.

anyone understand the sense in recalling Bairstow to the test side? hasn’t scored runs in the T20s. baffling.

Malan has been in great form, and is suited to NZ pitches.

Bairstow? Its probably an anti-sulk measure.

Malan has just scored the fastest hundred by an Englishman in T20's

it just makes no sense. as you say, probably to stop him sulking more than anything.

Malan has played brilliantly when called upon in ODI/T20 cricket, its a shocker than he doesn’t get another chance. or any of the other youngsters up and coming. i mean, if Bairstow wasn’t considered goid enough for the squad originally, what’s he done since to change their minds?

I think Malan also has a BBL or another T20 contract this winter. Added to the fact that Bairstow would be a backup keeper I guess it makes sense to keep him around, unlikely to play if Denly is fit.

right, Bairstow on standby only, in case Denly was injured. Looks like Denly will be fit for the first test.
