Nah, keep going lads, it works more often than notThis is a position of strength now, dial the bazball back and pick your shots.

Duckett has just stepped to square leg and cut one for 4 off the stumps and they're going at 6 an over. This is bazballIt doesn't mean scrap it, just dial it a bit, which they seem to have done.

Was thinking exactly the same (Bethall looks born for test cricket) but Smith walks back in the side as keeper. We have a real problem (albeit a good one). Young Bethell just looks a test player and has to stay in at three for me and Pope has been brilliant behind the stumps. How do you get Smith back in the side, which we have to do somehow
I think Pope is the one under pressure, he struggles at times at 3 so opening isn’t an option so he has to drop out. Smith can bat anywhere and walks in. Nice problem to have but it is said that it is easier to to get into the squad that it is being removed from it. I like the bowling balance with spinner in there to.Was thinking exactly the same (Bethall looks born for test cricket) but Smith walks back in the side as keeper.
If Bethell continues this form and gets stacks of runs v India does Pope (vice captain) get back in?
+ Pope averages over 40 at no3. So maybe the Duckett or Crawley spots get looked at
Easy you drop Pope and play Smith who is an exceptional talent, a better keeper and a better batterWe have a real problem (albeit a good one). Crawley and Pope are the weakest links in the side. For me Bethell and Smith both keep their places so pick it’s one of the weak links that miss outDuckett and Bethell are fun to watch.
Not sure Crawley will be keeping his place much longer because when it's not working for him, he's pretty terrible.
Mate, 2002 at the BR was mental. I was dating a kiwi at the time and ended up going out there just at the time when she needed to go home for a while, tied in brilliantly so took a six month sabbatical from work.God, I love the Basin. Favourite cricket ground in the world. Spent many happy years in Wellington and VUW was my alma mater. The Basin is basically inside the biggest roundabout in Wellington. If you can protect yourself from the wind it’s a brilliant viewing ground.
Is 533 enough?
I wouldn’t have declared yet but it doesn’t really matter either wayRoot, what a legend!
Also why has Stokes declared here? So much time left in the game. He really doesn’t give a shit about his numbers
Don’t think anyone would have begrudged stokes an extra couple of balls to bring up a 50 there….I wouldn’t have declared yet but it doesn’t really matter either way
I found it odd they didn’t go off as soon as Root got his ton
