Chasing a record score to win on an 8th/9th day pitch?

In my humble opinion, It's not going to happen regardless of how well they might play.

Well so far brain power not engaged and they're 11/2!

Will England become known as just flat track bullies? 🤔

Why do they lack brain power? This team has given us so much, they're not one dimensional at all. Let's face it, even peak 90's Aussies wouldn't chase this on that track. They have a style of play, it works an awful lot, but sometimes things don't.

Personally I think the wicket has been a disgrace. For 2 tests, there's been about 2 days where it's been a decent contest between bat and ball out of 8.

Popes due a score so if not this innings I’d have money on him for the next test. He always seems to get lots of low scores, but saw some stats that’s said he was our most productive No. 3 since Trott, which surprised me

Cause Crawley came down the wicket to only his second ball off Noman! That's why, didn't take his time to look at the bowling, see what the bowler was doing! I'm talking about now, not generally! Calm down poppet!

You're always at it though, first sign of us not winning and your toys are out of the pram. They play front foot cricket, get over it poppet.

I said SO FAR, hardly toys out the pram is it, and I always give credit where it's due, so far it's not due. I've not said they're not a good side, or they aren't good players. I do belive someone else said Crawley has a mare, so it wasn't just me who thought it.

Hardly surprising that we're already struggling. It's a very, very difficult wicket to bat on and i'd rather see us at least play with a positive mindset then prod around, waiting to get one with your name on it. I'd genuinely be surprised if we reach 200 on this with a total of 120-150 being the numbers i'd be betting on. As much as you never know with this lot, this is clearly a monumental ask.

I'm all for being positive, but there's being positive and being careless. Hey, I love seeing an English batsman biffing the ball to all parts, but as the saying goes, play each ball on its merit...poaitive doesn't mean smashing it for six every ball, it can mean rotating the strike every ball, get 4-6 an over plus your boundaries off the bad balls and you're there. It's easy, we could form an SC eleven and beat anyone! 😂 😂

So, my prediction of between 120-150 was bang on. I'm not a fan of what Pakistan did here, but they were desperate to break that long run of losses, at the end of the day, both sides had to play on it, the toss was huge but also, we dropped a number of catches. All to play for next week.

That’s why I don’t understand why countries don’t produce wickets to suit their attack.
If you are touring you need to expect to play on wickets you aren’t used to but in recent years all we’ve seen is these flat tracks (thank the ICC for that) as they favour high scores.
It doesn’t encourage kids to bowl at pace in some countries now, look at the Windies as a prime example.
Cricket needs wickets that are bowler friendly but that also give batsmen a fair chance otherwise what’s the point.
I’d much rather watch that test than the first!
