I still can’t get my head around the fact that we went from in the space of five hours looking at a monsoon on the tv to then actually getting the job done.
Absolutely mental, there was no way that looked like it was going to happen!🤣

Well done Australia.

Not the greatest sporting weekend for Scotland.
I don't think it's fair lumping the cricket team with the football one. That's been an impressive tournament from Scotland they'd have pushed England all the way as they did Australia.

Scotland have done great in the cricket, and if they had made it through it would have been a terrific achievement irrespective of the role the weather played. But instead they’ve been eliminated after coming agonisingly close in a couple of ways. That’s disappointing for the fans and players regardless of any pride they may take in the manner of their exit. So while I’ve not ‘lumped them in’ with the footballers (who, in contrast, were an embarrassment), it’s still been a tough weekend for Scottish sport/fans in different ways.

Wow, certainly wasn’t expecting Scotland to run the Aussies that close!
Fair play to them, I see they’ve got a 3 game series lined up against the Aussies later this year which’ll do them wonders in this format.

That was tighter than expected.
Love to play them over 3 games. Bring it on.

Woke up to watch the last hour of the Aussie innings… looked in deep trouble at one point. I hadn’t realised that the Aussies had rested their 3 main seamers and dropped 5 catches during the Scotland innings. The drop by Sole for Scotland at the end… was a disaster for Scotland 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe puts our performance into perspective a little.

Up until Stoinis put his foot down that was looking like a Scotland win. A four over spell where he and (briefly) Head went to town on the Scottish bowlers really shifted the momentum.

Scotland played brilliantly TBF.

Next up let's see what we can do against the Windies on that small ground in the super 8's

England would most likely have beaten Scotland comfortably under normal circumstances (no rain). Scotland did very well against Australia but the Aussies left our their 3 main seamers - Starc, Hazelwood and Cummins.

My sentiments too. Batting seems to be looking more aggressive and less frantic now which is a big positive

Starc played.
And could've easily got a few wickets in his first couple of overs when the ball was swinging..

But beneath him, Ellis seemed a bit meh

Dof the cap to Ireland on pulling that back how they did, at one stage I thought they be skittled for under 50!

Glad Australia did the job on Scotland I think we have a chance in the super 8’s we look far more comfortable in T20 than in the 50 over game

Lockie Ferguson’s figures today are mental, I’ve never see this before:
O: 4
M: 4
R: 0
W: 3

nice to see the kiwis finally turn up, poor tournament by their standards

There’s a good chance they’ll be the best figures ever in T20 cricket, never to be beaten!
