So this is my 1000th post on SpursCommunity so I thought I would try and leave a thread worthy of this milestone.

A pure hypothetical question, but what if.......We went all the way to the Champions league final and faced Arsenal at Wembley?

Just the thought of this sends my brain into spasms. I cant even begin to comprehend how big this game would be? The build up. the day of the game. the Aftermath!?! North London would come to a standstill.

I was talking with a gooner mate of mine and I asked him this question. We both came to the conclusion that if either team lost we would never be able to face eachother again. I would seriously contemplate never watching football again, I dont think I could handle the pain. The hurt would be too much to bare. But on the other hand. If we won?? Can you imagine? It would be the sweetest moment of my life and would put to bed forever the gooners "always in our shadow" delusion. They would have no comeback, nothing they could say would be better, or mean more than winning the champions league final at Wembley against your bitter rivals.

Gooner:"We won the league at White Hart Lane?"
Yido:"So what? We beat you in the Champions league final at Wembley!"
Gooner: "I'll just get my coat....."

So have you considered it?

First off, I'm not entirely sure I'd be able to watch that game. I'd just be pure shitting myself and not able to enjoy the occasion!!

Second - if we lost, I wouldnt socialise with ANYONE,h including my fiancee, for at least a month.

Third - If we won....fuck wouldn't I let people know about it!

I was talking about that scenario earlier today, oddly enough. It would be the ultimate showdown..realy Hollywood stuff.

A friend of mine almost had a similar experience, when the team he supports - Liverpool - had a good chance of meeting Man United in the Champions League final.

He was terrified it would happen because, although he said winning it would be the best day of his life, if they lost he believed he'd be so unbelievably gutted that he'd simply stop living.

I on the other hand would love to see us and Arsenal battle it out in the final. Gallas to pop up with an injury time winner!

No chance this happening. Arsenal will come 2nd in their group, get drawn against Barca and get thrashed in the next round.

Spurs to win 4-0.

William Gallas, David Bentley, Jamie O'Hara and Anton Blackwood, making his first team debut, to be the Tottenham goalscorers.

Good point actually, we'll just have to beat Barce' in the final instead - Cannot wait to see BAE put Messi in his back pocket

Would be imense, its a shame Arsenal will be knocked out by Barcelona in the next round.....did i say shame?

Honestly though they have to play either Barca, Real, Byern or Schalke in the next round and if they avoid the attacking talent of the Spaniards then they will come up against the resiliance of the Germans - i don't know how they would do in either scenario but i hope they get a Spanish team.

As for us, it's a choice of Lyon, Valencia, Copenhagen, Roma (probably), Marseille, AC Milan and possibly Donetsk or Braga - all of which with the exception of Milan i fancy our chances against.

I don't think we'll make the final this season down to the number of goals we ship but it is a great thrill to be in the hunt and if we go one stage further than Arsenal then that makes it all the better.

I had a dream this was going to happen a while back making it the first all london final and winner

But in my dream we were losing and then i scored the winning goal in the last minute to make 4-3 so maybe this isn't going to happen:shrug:

It would be epic. Just to win the Champions League in our first season alone would be insane. But to do it against the scum would be amazing. To lose though would be devastating. I'd continue following as always but there would always be a dark cloud hanging over us.

I loved it when Barca beat Arsenal in the Champions League final. I dont have the same feelings for Barca as Spurs, but I still love the club. That was an amazing night beating the scum. Belletti!!!! And Barca beating Utd in the final was great too. In fact I often relied on Barca to beat the teams I hate, but now Spurs have become more than capable of doing it themselves.

Spurs are on their way to Wembley!
Tottenhams gonna do it....in the Champions League for the first time in history :shifty:

Ditto. But these days it seems its increasingly difficult to get all the way to the final without having to face somebody from your own country.

I was talking to my mate about this last night, were saying it would be funny if they had piped us and got forth in the league, and then we go and win against them in the final, also knocking them out of next seasons comp. would be AMAZING!!!!!

as an ST holder, i'd sell my ticket for about a million quid and still be shitting myself unable to enjoy my drastic change of lifestyle.

it would be an unbearable match. i'd probably be violently vomiting and crying either outcome.

What would be better is to beat Arsenal in the Semi Final and let the world witness a titanic football game with Barcelona that the world will remember (who's that team in white) Barcelona with their silky possession and matador style against the spirit of Bill Nicholson's glory glory Tottenham Hotpurs coming out victorious.

I will just cry.
