a couple months into his spurs career, I thought modric was too easily pushed off the ball, and wouldn't be able to cope with the pace of English football. in retrospect, that may not have been entirely accurate.

Didn't Wenger and Redknapp, think something similar though? Isn't that why Redknapp played Modric on the left to start with, rather than centrally?

Hutton. Remember I was at the game against Man U a couple of years ago and said to my son that Hutton will do good for us. He will be a top player for us.

Was I wrong or was I wrong:eek:

I still feel bad about laying into Dempsey last season. In retrospect he scored 12 goals and a lot of them important ones too.

I also insisted that Levy was a con man that entered into transfer negotiations to work fans up enough to buy tickets etc.
This summer he proved me wrong buy spending all of our income.

I was really pissed off over Willian, considering we got Errrrrrrrrrrrrriiik - sen - sen - sen instead I really shoudn't of been bothered... I was also naive enough to believe Bale wanted to stay. Also, after a Sunderland game a while ago when Sandro wasn't starting, he started, I thought he didn't have what it takes... Couldn't of been more wrong. Also thought getting Ade was great news when we got him on a perm.

I can't tell you how over the moon I was when we got adebayor on loan, I thought that was the bomb! Then when we signed him, fuck I thought we're styling now ...

I still think he can do a fantastic job for us handled right ... but avb clearly thinks the effort required is too much v the potential reward.

Not sure that's an apology ... but it's something within the spirit of the thread

There are many many things I've been wrong about. We moved recently and my son laughed his head off at a letter we found from Christian Gross; I had complained (in writing!) bitterly that Jamie Clapham was the best left-back at the club and was not being given a chance -he would be the best left-back we had ever had if given the a few games to prove himself. The letter was a standard 'Thanks for that' reply and Jamie Clapham never did make it really.

Also I thought that if Levy stuck to his hardball policies we would never challenge for the title; he made a net spend of just £2m this last window, I am told, yet we are looking like we really will challenge this season even accounting for suspensions and injury. Sorry Dan.

I thought Caskey would become an England regular and top player for us.

I loved Jol but really believed Ramos' ethos would take us to the 'next level.'

I didn't think we should sell Bale because we'd struggle to sign players talented enough to make our squad sufficiently stronger.

I, briefly, believed Martin O'Neill should have been our top candidate before we hired AVB.

Not apologising though, it's standard for any commentator putting his opinions out there to get things wrong.

That we got from selling Bale.

Yep. That's what I said. He spent the income.
He could have spent a lot less and palmed a few mediocre players off on to AVB.
And there's January's window yet. If we even need anyone by then.

Then AVB would have walked and taken the PSG job, Levy knows that. But for the record I believed Levy when he said Bale wouldn't be sold but I can't blame him for selling for that kind of crazy money.

Although I was glad we made a change from Harry, I did have my doubts about AVB after Chelsea. He has answered every question I have had so far, and I'm delighted we have a man in charge who puts the club first, and not his own ego.

Sergei Rebrov - I was 100%, absitively, posilutely convinced he was the fucking messiah.

And over the last couple of years all the links to Eriksen have left me going "Meh, can't see the attraction". If you're reading this Christian, sorry mate, may just have misjudged that one.
