There’s 4 positions I think we needed to strengthen that we didn’t:

A top RW
LB Cover/Competition
LCB Cover/Competition
A proper DM destroyer to protect the back 4

I was however quite happy with the transfers and like the fact we’re moving for younger talent. We just seem a bit toothless atm and aren’t taking our chances! Hopefully that changes!

Very happy with the outs though and overall I’d give the window a 6.5/7 out of 10.

What are the fans going to do. Even when it was turning bad for Poch the fans int he stadium where mostly ok if just a bit down on results. It was Levy who sacked him for his pet project Jose.

Its the board that has never had the stomach for a rebuild previously, they just sack the manager.
I completely agree, its up to the board but the fans can help by not turning on Ange if we lost a few more games, we could quite easily lose to Arsenal and be sat there with 4 points from 4 games and people will start to doubt.

The board need to stick by him and Ange needs to tweak things slightly/get a bit more luck with injuries and get backed properly. If we don't spend in Jan and go big next summer then I think well only ever tread water or go backwards

Surely most people have friends who are Arsenal fans. I couldn’t imagine a more reactionary fanbase then them, even when Arteta out was really strong the club simply ignored it and pressed ahead with the rebuild backing Arteta.
Generally speaking as fan bases we are all the same mate. We are no different to Arsenal at all.

If there was a Spurs equivalent of AFTV, where people were interviewed right after disappointing results we’d be just as much of a laughing stock.

Generally, people say dumb shit when they’re annoyed with their football team right in the midst of the emotion of being at a game, often with a few beers in the tank as well.

It’s why I hate reading “fans need to show some winning mentality” type comments you read on here over and over again like A) that will make any significant difference and B) like football fans aren’t all basically the same

Agree - it's the widespread popularity of AFTV. Whether they designed it to be popular for other clubs fans to make fun of them I don't know. I doubt that was their original MO - but they certainly know it makes them money now.

I still think we could do with additional cover at CB and would hope that we are looking at some of the free agents that can still be signed. For example, I read somewhere that Joel Matip is currently available as a free agent and he could certainly do a job for us. Think West Ham are looking at possibly signing him at the minute.

Before the transfer window I thought we had some business to do:

- Get a real no. 6 who shields the backline, can beat the press and good progressive passing
- Sign a right winger that suits Anges system
- Get a goal scorer
- A defender for cover, someone who is good in the air and in best case quick too.
- Maybe more creativity if Maddison is out of form

What did we get:
- Exciting prospects with Odobert, Bergvall, Gray
- The goal scorer with Solanke who should improve the XI
- Werner

Unfortunately, I do not think this is good enough. I get we want the best prospects, we do a good job here, but who knows they ever develop properly if we do not set the standards high now. I think we do not have the necessary mentality in the team to really push on. Our leaders get lost far too often when we need them and this is crucial in tight games. I think there would be nothing wrong to get one or two more ready made players in who can lead the team but maybe do not have the highest resell value.

The signing of Werner is very pointless now Odobert is here and Son might be used more from the left again. It still leaves us short on the right.

I really hope we have enough to get a good season out of the group with maybe winning a bloody cup or reaching Champions League. Otherwise some top prospects like Van de Ven might start looking elsewhere.

Pressure is nothing but a conditioned response.
It's purely of our own making.
It's conversations WE have in our own minds - usually around our dysfunctional relationship with time.
Yes....most young people in society have grown up adopting their parents beliefs around 'pressure'.
But that doesn't mean they all do....and if our recruitment is top-notch, then I hope we are pinpointing youngsters that can adapt quickly.

Look at Luke Littler (darts).
Look at Lamine Yamal.

These guys simply have a different conversation going on in their heads to yours. That's it.
That's what allows them to excel and reach great peaks....even at a young age.

If we are always worried about our past (dragging it around with us) and fearful of our future.....we create an insane amount of pressure within our bodies.
Pressure that won't allow you to operate at your very highest potential.

Age has very little to do with it (and hopefully our recruitment).
The QUALITY OF THE CONVERSATION you've got going on in your mind has EVERYTHING to do with it.
🏆Congratulations in winning the prize for best connection of nickname and post! 🏆

The problem with those wanting experienced players of the quality required to make an immediate impact is that we're on the bottom rung of the clubs they're looking to move to. We either have to wait for the end of the window when their preferred destinations don't transpire or we end up getting a dud. We've shown this time and time again.
The way to get them is to do what we've done this window, it takes patience though.
It would be possible to get them by throwing money at them. But that´s not how we´re being run, so ...

Some complain that we have a small squad , looks like that lot up the Seven Sisters Road have a first team squad of 22 which is smaller than ours which is 25 , take out Austin, Whiteman and Reguilon from ours and that leaves us with 22 , a few injuries and both of us could be in trouble.

No, they have a better squad with more quality cover. But they've also been fkin lucky and suddenly start playing the victim with one or two short term absences. Let's see what they're made of with 2 or 3 out. Actually, let's exploit it!

Most fans however committed don't think protesting would make a jot of difference that's why they don't bother.

It would have to get really bad, like 15th, or something like that, for some to look in the direction of the Directors box as well as the dugout.

Many of us though Sugar was vulnerable during the SOS campaign. That's why we stuck with it, and the numbers and intensity grew.

If we fell badly this or next season, Teflon Dan would simply make a popular managerial appointment and buy 3x 50m players to dig himself out of a whole and most would give him yet another life...
