I love the smell of meltdowns in the morning ;)

Go on, have at it. But i'll tell you what, as transfer windows go, it hasn't been a complete disaster and here's something else, we've had a LOT worse.

You can see what they are trying to do, the 'process' is in full flow, it might, well certainly will, take longer then we might like but Rome wasn't built in a day and other hairy old adages. I think what we've done sets us up nicely for the season and double nicely for the future.

Will we sign anyone today? Well, seeing as the clubs gone all secret squirrel, you never know, we might be surprised but I wouldn't put much of a bet on it.

I think we're done.

Finally, if you haven't donated yet this summer what's the matter with you? And don't give me that horseshit about food and rent, get your priorities right ;)

OK, so here your Post Mortem Thread, have it early, if you want to have a hissyfit, cool, I could do with a laugh. Thanks in advance.

I think it's been a good window. Gray and Odobert look excellent so far and Solanke I think is going to be a very effective player for us in a position we desperately needed strengthening. If you include Bergvall then it's been a very exciting window, one of the most exciting in terms of potential for years.

I didn't think we needed Eze and I was very concerned about Neto's injury record so not signing either of them wasn't a problem for me at all. Unfortunately for some in here not signing those players has clouded their judgement a bit on the window.

Is it perfect? No of course not, I'd like to see cover for the left side of defence and it will be a bit of a worry if we don't manage that but other than that I'm happy.

I think Gray is going to be an absolute star for us.

9/10 outs.

6.5/10 ins.

Lets see how good Ange is, because I would'nt say he's been backed to the hilt in this window.

Bit meh for me regarding the here and now. Future-wise, it's been a good window. I was hoping for a good mix of here and now and future, as it's the right way to go about things. So I don't have any hopes of challenging for anything this season.

Any chance of a poll at the top of the thread so people can vote on wether it's been a good window so the thread isn't just people discussing our business so far?

Failing that any chance of a pole at the top of the thread where A&C can dance with his ban stick?

Well, I think we need a poll as to whether we need a poll.

Move my moaning here for a post.

Don’t care about outs as long as we disnt sell Romero or vdv I’m not overly bothered.

Ins - the kids look great on paper but they’re just that, kids. The squad lacks some real experience and know how. If anyone would have suggested this window before the summer people would have been up in arms but here we are.
If they had signed a defender to cover compete on the left side I would have been relatively happy but we’re way short in that area and whilst last season we had so few games we could sort of get away with it (we didn’t) , this season, with Europa we’re going to struggle. Especially if we go further than the first round of the league cup and the second of the FA CUP.

Ange and his team are going to have to be the best coaches in the league this season and the luckiest with injuries.

Because having all of those international captains led to great success for us. I'm 100% all in on the kids.
We have already seen them fall apart when under pressure at Leicester, I would have liked just one experienced head in the Naybet mould to come in and help

True, but it’s a hell of a lot of pressure being put on their shoulders, though.

Oh well, if you’re good enough you’re old enough, I suppose!

I just wish we added a couple more signings who would have elevated the starting 11.

Very happy with Gray, Bergvall and Odobert. Think Solanke was the best English option - worried that he missed a couple of sitters and then got injured but hope he was (as claimed) the player that Ange wanted.
If we also give time to players like Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear to continue their development from pre-season then it could be a good window, especially considering the players we have shifted (Ndombele going must free up significant catering budget alone!)

A long/medium term injury to Micky or Udogie and we may struggle. We have youth options to step up elsewhere but not there, so I was hoping for some cover. Sounds unlikely now though. That said I'm very happy with all of our signings.
