My most hated phrase in football.

The last time my Man U supporting mate decided to dish out this spiel he got my big fat finger in his eye. It doesn't even itself out - it's highly unlikley too. Teams will either get a shit load throughout the season (Arsenal last season), some will get little and some will get bugger all.

Anyway, I though I'd start a thread on this seasons 'luck' with the top teams in mind.

4 games in and Arsenal are creaming it yet again. Atkinsons decision was amateur. Sunday league stuff.

Chelsea's Villa win? How the bloody hell was the winning scorer still on the pitch?

Think that's all so far.

Feel free to contribute as the season goes on.

Utd - Ashley Young penalty given when the challenge was outside the box..
Utd - Should of had a their first goal disallowed in the CL last night..

Both at old Trafford, different manager, same old shit..

Seems that way doesn't it. I've also got a Man United supporting mate who always says "you make your own luck". Can't stand that phrase. My response is always "Yeah, of course you do. It's called bribery. That's exactly how you make your own luck". He doesn't appreciate it, put it that way.

It doesn't even itself out. Look at Arsenal robbing us of 4th...first lasagnagate, then the worst goalkeeping display in the history of football from Cerny, and last year some very very very favourable decisions to help them along the way on their final run in......so when does it even itself out for us?

Oh and sorry for ranting as I know all that isn't relevant to this season.

Anyway, who was Jonjo Shelvey playing for on Monday night? Not quite sure he knew!

Wasn't that Fulop? For some reason I have him in mind and not Cerny.

Do we really need another thread whinging about other teams? We used to laugh at Dippers for moaning and being bitter.

But then how often do you see a penalty dissallowed AND the player get booked for diving at OT?

Very true, although Mr Young is building a rep for this sort of thing now a dive and a booking might be the start of something new at OT, whisper it "by the book", Moyes angry at referee in right decision shocker..

doesn't have to be whinging or about other teams. Analysis of decisions is a good idea for a thread.

Agree.

People will moan if they want. People have a right to and over the last few years we've had reason to.

I'll have a good moan. I need somewhere to do it after Chelsea beat Fulham at home 1-0 through a shot that ricochets of 4 bums and an arm before trickling into the net.

But lets put ours in here too.

It will be good to review it after the season.

You know the phrase I really dislike, along with that one you mention?

"The Law of averages dictates..."

Makes me want to blow chunks...I know of no law of effing averages.

Right, I guess it's fair to say we had some luck today?

I missed the first ten minutes but by all accounts Lloris could and should have gone.

Any other luck for the big hitters this weekend?

I don't think so. He played the ball clean and his hand was on the line so it wasn't handball.

Arse's second goal came after a free kick where Giroud was pulling the defender's shirt just as much as the defender was pulling his, so of course Homer Dean gave it to the Sphincter.
