Nice.

But fenerbache should be told any violence and they will be banned from the competition.

Great response, there are so many knuckle dragging Turkish fans, they're not all like that but that's the first thing people think about when they think Turkish Football.

Good thing the Fenerbache fans weren't threatening them with poppies. God only knows how the IRA lovers would have responded.

What that article doesn't mention is that Sporting fans got in on the act as well.

My paternal grandfather was in the I.R.A. in 1920 - it was then a legitimate army attached to the fledgling Irish Government that stood between 1919-1922.

His family home in County Clare was burned down by the 'Black and Tans' - just for fun. Which led him to join up with the Republican army of freedom fighters who were at the time endorsed by the Irish Government until, the split in 1922.

The IRA then split with the official (Old) IRA and the Provisional IRA, there were then many other factions of the IRA even to the present day.

My grandfather was a freedom fighter ... he ended up serving in the Garda Siochana until retirement serving as a Sergeant.

I respectfully like to say that a throwaway comment regarding the IRA is a bit random. And offensive..

Now if you are referring to PIRA - that is totally different. And embarrassing.

My dad was incredibly close to being killed by an IRA (as they are widely referred to in England) bomb, so I don't have a lot of positive things to say about the portion of Celtic fans that sing songs about them, and how much they hate the English.

Again you might be mixing up the old ira and the pira.

As for hating the english maybe you should listen to the words of our national anthem.

I was incredibly close to being killed by Glasgow Rangers fans in 1982" on a ferry to Ostende ..the 'big yins' had earmarked little old me as being a 'taig' and they decided to give me a severe kicking, started by hitting me over the head with beer bottles, and kicking the shit out of me - odds of about 20 onto one

I had carried out no dialogue with these fuckers, they just knew, as factions did in those days, by sight or by name, how a person could be pigeonholed, a Billy or a Pat, a Kev or a Trev. That was the way it was.

I spent the final third of the crossing hiding in the belly of our coach in the lower levels of the ship.

Celtic in europe is a joke just like the league they're in. So pointless to watch and celtic style football is horrible to watch. Bunch of leprechaun wankers
