If he had won some silverware then he might have gotten away with it. But for a coach with zero silverware in the bank it was just stupid.

It’s never a good idea for a manager still in the job to bring a book out.

And to think I bought that for dad for Christmas (I had no choice really he’s that hard to buy for I was desperate lol).

They did hit a patchy run of mixed/poor results, immediately after the publication. Then later that season they went on to having a great winter/spring, with wins over ManUtd, Arsenal and Chelsea. I'm sure the book wasn't a great idea in hindsight, but I would put the spotlight, in terms of starting to unravel, on the spectacle with Mike Dean in the match vs. Burnley.

Ah yes, page 65 chapter 4 of the book was suddenly the moment when Sissoko had the flashback in the final which made him raise his arm :p
