I remember years ago Sky One had a couple of celebs/ex-pros matches where some Geordie guy from Big Brother was MOM on both occasions. Anyhow, they had Gazza come onto the pitch at half time to have a shot into an empty net (no idea if it was to win someone some money or something) and he failed miserably, scuffing a shot which didn't even reach the byline.

That said, to have him on the pitch, with seemingly the majority of his troubles behind him, will be pretty heartwarming. I'm sure there can't be many people who thought a decade ago that he'd even be alive in 2019, so it'll be great just to see him don the shirt - fingers crossed he can pull off one bit of magic to remind us all just how ridiculously talented he was in his playing days.
Not only don the shirt, but do so in the new ground. What a story.

Tenner says he walks on to the pitch with an air rifle and starts shooting the cockerel, I feel like it has to happen.

So happy for him,one of the most outrageously talented players to ever wear our shirt. Will be great to see him at the new lane in a spurs shirt no matter what he does (within reason :cautious:)

The guy was a genius on the pitch though. Also mad as a fucking hatter & probably an absolute bloody nightmare to be around.

I could picture him getting a microphone & announcing to the crowd that he can't believe Mace let him do the wiring at the start of the stadium construction.

Has this been officially confirmed? It’s probably true, but he’s said and done a lot of crazy things. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that this is a moment of delusional rambling.

Definitely hope it’s true though.

Spot on. I’m sure there’s some truth in it but he has come out with pure made up bullshit before (several times) so wouldn’t put it past him. Spurs haven’t confirmed it. I’m reeeeeeeally hoping it’s true though!

Doesn't matter if he can't kick a ball straight, Gazza on the pitch will be fantastic. If only Hoddle was feeling better, then that would be the two reasons I support Spurs on the pitch at the same time.

If Hoddle cant play due to his recent heart issues and Waddle isn't in the squad I demand a half time performance of Diamond Lights
