I would like to see...

----------------------------Gazza----------------------------

--Aurier-------Foyth----------------Toby------------Jan-----

----------------Lo Celso-------------Sissoko-------------------

--Lucas-------------------Dele-----------------------Son

----------------------------Kane-------------------------------

I think Sissoko pace will help Jan and son out when tracking Traore

I think people shouldn't waste time suggesting any type of formation different from what we've seen Jose use since day 1. It's not going to change. It will remain a 4-2-1-3, with a full back that stays back to create a 3cb block when we attack. And a full back that is a winger in attack. He will not change this formation and style of play any time soon. So, it's kinda a non starter to suggest anything outside of this paradigm.

What's helpful about knowing his preferred way of playing is that it makes it easier to pick the team, as it reduces guessing. Also it tells us quite clearly where we have holes in the squad.

Am I the only one who thinks Moura is too in and out . If he could replicate the Burnley game with the running and defensive work he would be fine but for me he is unreliable and I would play Son on the right of Kane and Sessegnon on the left with the caveat that if its not working these two could change wings .

I’d love to see:

Gaz
Aurier Toby Sanchez Verts
Skipp Sissoko
Son Alli Sess
Kane

think skipp would add some mobility and bite in CM. it’s a real shame Ndombele is permanently injured.

People can waste their time doing whatever they want. The thread is (presumably) so that people can say what they'd like to see, although they're also free to say what they think the manager will pick. Wasting time has never been an issue for most on here.

My feeling on Son is that he could play any forward position he has the ability to do so .

I know they see Sessegnon as more of a winger, but it would be interesting to see him reverse the back 4 against teams more susceptible to attacks down the left. Play Foyth as the defensive right back/third CB and have Sessegnon on the left with the free marauding role

He is frustratingly inconsistent. Has all the attributes to be dominant but rarely impacts a game. Need for from him that's for certain.

I completely agree about his inconsistency, although I think Jose is going to try and add an industrious defensive side to his game. He's quick AF and has the leap of a radioactive salmon so he could be a really useful defensive presence if he works on that side of his game.

He actually singled him out after the Burnley game so it's clearly something he's been working on:

At least this way, even if he's not working wonders going forward, he's still providing something essential to the team (as if often the case with Lamela too).

With Son and Moura we have the tools to emulate Liverpool’s devastating counter attacks. Look at their first yesterday against Watford and how many goals they score from defending a corner. We have already seen a bit of this since Mourinho came in so hopefully it continues. I'd certainly rather have him in the team than not.
