............................... Lloris ...............................
Aurier... Alderweireld... Sanchez... Sessegnon
................. Lo Celso..... Winks .......................
....... Moura ......... Lamela ........ Bergwijn......
................................ Alli ................................

1st choice keeper and centre back partnership
Two quick and attack minded full backs
Lo Celso and Winks have previously played well together as the central midfield duo
Lamela - creativity linking central midfield to attack
Two wide forwards giving us balance and playing to their strengths
Alli - more than capable of playing as a striker and is at his best when he needs to be instinctive and doesn’t have to dwell on the ball
I like this - however the line-up is screaming out for a proper DM to allow Lamela and Lo Celso to do their thing... particularly with two attacking fullbacks.

Lloris
Aurier Sanchez. Tanganga Davies
Moura Winks. Lamela Lo Celso. Berwijn
Dele

Our defense is not good enough to play a low block and we lack our top strikers up front so I believe our best option is to flood the midfield which is one area we have strength in depth. I’m not playing 5 in midfield as a defense tactic rather as an offensive tactic. Playing Tanganga along side Sanchez means with their pace we can play a high line then with the overload in midfield we should be able to dominate possession and break from there with pace; Moura and Berwijn playing in from out and Lamela breaking down the middle. We could go all out offensive with Sess instead of Davies so he and Aurier overlap on the outside when Moura and Berwijn cut inside. Dele up front is a goal threat and it means he can’t slow down or mess up attacks with his flicks.
Skipp, NDombele and even Dier are possible subs for the midfield area.
Our present system of sitting back and hitting them on the break isn’t working because we’re no good defensively when put under sustained pressure. This way is at least an attempt to dominate possession of the ball further away from our goal. We have to be more proactive if we want to mitigate the loss of Kane and Sons goals.

So someone says " we are going to lose " and is called spineless .
Another fan says we are going to win and is called 'Deluded"
Neither statement is correct its just peoples opinions and calling a person opinion spineless or deluded is not fair as believe it or not we are all allowed an opinion if you are going to label people because their opinions don't tally with yours is unfair and uncalled for if you don't agree with someone then explain why you think they are wrong . One of the functions of this site is for the discussing of views . well that's why I come on here to relay my views right or wrong but the real reason for me is that this site is a release valve for my angst about certain subjects .

Whatever side is chosen , with Harry and Sonny out, Dele just has to start , he should be starting every game with our two top scorers out.
Looking at the goal scoring stats Dele is only just behind Sonny.
Dele 151 games for Spurs scored 49 , Sonny 151 games scored 51 , Lucas 63 games scored 14 .
Dele provides a much bigger goal threat than Lucas.
Look at the assists Dele 32 , Sonny 26 and Lucas 3 in those games .
Think I will send Jose a postcard , "Dele must play".

The problem here is their wide men. Lamela must back up Serge, and Sess likewise with Davies.

we just have to pass better from back to front, to make better use of our counter attacks

Hugo
Serge, Sanch, Tanganga, Davies
Gedson
Lamela nD GLC Sess
Berg

time for a rest with Norwich in mind
Toby
Moura
Alli
Winks

time for a longer rest
Dier

Wolves are a counter attacking team so sit deep and make them play out as they will leave gaps being they are at home then we hit them on counter.

With Verts pace going i would almost be tempted to try him as DM as he cannot be any worse then the victor

In general I'd prefer a fluid front four out of Lamela, Lucas, Dele, Bergwijn but that doesn't leave us much off the bench and risks giving them too much time on the ball in wide positions with no-one to really occupy their 3 CBs properly.

A safer option might be to match them in terms of formation, with Sessegnon and Aurier/Tanganga as wing-backs and one of the 3 CBs pushing up to make an extra body in midfield when in possession, might even suit our Eric. Then either a four in midfield with Lamela and Bergwijn as the wide players and Dele up top or a central two and a fluid front 3 out of Bergwijn, Dele, Lamela, Lucas with an option on the bench to add fresh legs or change shape as needed.

Mostly I'm hoping Espanyol score early and they have to sweat to go through. Traore and Doherty attacking our left flank worries me a bit.

It's us who are at home, so they might just sit and counter with pace. We're not very good at dealing with that.

Correction, the post I said was spineless didn't say "we are going to lose" did it? It actually said if you wish to look over it again that "We have lost already. Just a case of picking a scoreline."

Slightly different to saying we are going to lose and calling that spineless I'm sure you'll agree.

Lloris

Aurier Toby Sanchez Tanganga

GLC Winks Ndombele

Lamela Dele Bergwijn

subs : Gazza, Davies, Dier, Skipp, Gedson, Sessengnon, Lucas

That midfield 3 actually in that set up, not like Chelsea with GLC wide right and Ndombele deepest. We will need Tanganga matched up with Traore, Davies will get eaten alive. Dele at least offers a presence and some hold up capability as a central attacker
