What do people see in Stambouli?

Don't get me wrong but he offers nothing going forward, There's no point playing him if he's with Bentaleb.

Paulinho, Dembele or Mason should play next to Bentaleb as box to box

Didn't he score in his last game?

Paulinho to start? Don't make me laugh

everyone always says that but this is his record when playing as a #10:

17 apps
3 goals
3 assists

now this is his record playing when playing from the left:

17 apps
8 goals
6 assists

And I'm pretty sure most of those appearances from the left have been in a 4-4-2 / 4-4-1-1 formation where he's had licence to roam. He just isn't as good when there's someone situated in the CAM position I don't think, like yesterday with Lamela, or in a 4-2-3-1 formation

At the closing stages of the game last night, Kane could hardly walk, never mind run. Give him Saturday off. Don't want him burnt out or worse still suffer an injury. Mason can also do with a rest after so many consecutive starts.

I think it will be the same team as against Everton although in CM we could use some fresh legs. Chadli, Lamela, Paulinho are probably the ones replacing tiring players in the 2nd half but I'd like to see what Stambouli can do in a league match. Could be an ideal game to give him a start.

Would bring in Naughton for Vlad and Soldado for Lamela - Bentaleb and Mason *MUST* be given time to grow together. Sure, Capoue can tackle better, sure, Dembele can dribble better, sure, Paulinho can score more goals but these two move the ball quickly, have experience playing with each other and look like they would rather die than walk off the pitch as losers.

It really does pain me to include Lennon again but you slot in Lamela, which no doubt most people will, and you will get the narrow, congested tripe we've been served pretty much all season - at least with Lennon there's the threat of going to the byline and making the full back commit rather than showing them inside.

Whilst it's a very 'samey' midfield trio, I think the interplay between them will be good and provides a more solid base to build our attacks upon whilst giving decent protection to our defence without the ball - theoretically anyway. Just don't particularly want to see 4231 with the same personnel resulting in generally the same turgid performance.

After years of abuse, the penny finally drops - Lennon is vital to our play and you know it :D

If Kane doesn't need a rest then swap him and Lamela. I think Mason needs a rest personally but I have no idea who you replace him with, we just seem to have a bunch of central midfielders who can't perform at the moment.

Huh?
No way is that going to be the line up
And why not? In my mind, we can't afford to play the same team over and over and run them down during a hectic December. We're against Palace, not City. We should be beating them without our strongest team. Should.

We can do that against Leicester and Burnley. Palace are a much tougher opponent.
