I do not understand why everyone thinks Ndombele, who looks like he can only cover about 15 yards of the pitch, against a team that plays at such a high pace. I understand everyone is enthralled with his skills, but we need guys in CM with the engines to play at a high pace while maintaining possession against these guys. Winks and Lo Celso for me.

Anyone playing Tanganga and Sanchez on the left side obviously hasn't been watching our passing play when these two play together. it basically means we have no left side play as neither can pass using their left foot other than rudimentary hacks clear so they either give it away, or come inside and play a riskier pass, or take a risk in possession to make room for a pass.

I like Tanganga but he is not a left back. and i could see issues with us getting caught in possession down that side with these two there.

Davies is a must for me unless Jan is next to Japhet, and then it's a case of how quick are their attackers?

IMO, a fit Ndombele for 60min, can take apart Leipzig midfield. Their midfield is work man like. Not many can read his spins and body faints. I will only start him, if he is absolutely ready.

I personally would have Davis playing. Have you not seen their aggressive attacking pace threat? Combined with an elite shrewd young manager, who will tactically expose Davis as weak link. Need Sanchez, Toby, Tanganga, Aurier.

Davies played well yesterday but he was partially at fault for their 1st goal and left for dead on a couple of other occasions. Leipzig have some rapid and strong players and although not his strongest position I feel having Tanganga at left back will be of more benefit than Davies as he offers both strength and pace. Let’s not forget Davies is only just back from a long lay off... he’ll be blowing out of his arse.

Lloris Aurier Toby Sanchez Tanganga
Lo Celso Winks Ndombele
Lucas Son Bergwijn

Would be happy with Dele inside right instead of Lucas. If Leipzig are short of natural CBS Dele runs from deep should cause them all sort of issues.. Think I’d also look at Sanchez playing RCB instead of Toby as werners been playing off the left a lot more so need the pace to cover Aurier if he’s pushing on.
