We only have two centre backs available for the game (Davies is fine in a 3 but wouldn't play him in a 2 personally) so likely both Toby and Sanchez will start.

In midfield I personally want PEH and Tanguy rested, Gio needs minutes so he plays with either Winks or Sissoko.

I think Dele, Lucas and Vinicius will start so that leaves one spot in the forwards, I would start Lamela and look to bring Bale on for the last 25 as I don't think he is ready to start.

Keeper and fullbacks I assume Jose will rotate so that gives me.

The five substitutes means Bale, Tanguy, Son, Kane and Stevie can ill impact the game if needed.

Kane, Son and Tanguy have started the season brilliantly. Really need to use Europe as a way of getting our rotation options firing. I understand people thinking we will go strong to get off to a good start, but I don't feel Kane or Son need to be anywhere near starting these games. We have a strong squad and need to use it.

Gedson isn’t registered for Europa and Tanganga isn’t fit unfortunately

Other than that, nailed it ?

in that case, play Davies at LCB and play Reguilon and I’d play Dele deeper and and start Bergwijn because I really want to avoid playing Højberg

Any news on Dier? Hope he can start this one.

I also wonder if Jose should start working with Dele and Lamela on becoming midfielders. Or at least, midfielders that can play in a midfield 3. I believe Lamela is very capable of doing this and could actually play to his strengths. We need more options in that space at the moment. As frankly, we only really have three midfielders worth a damn, PEH, NDombele and Lo Celso. Problem is, one can't play for more than 60 minutes and another can't seem to get fit. Leaving us with relying on Winks and Sissoko. Which can be hit and miss.

We have attacking options aplenty with Vincius, Kane, Sonny, Bale, Stevie B, and Moura.... and Clarke. We simply don't need Dele or Lamela in this space. So, why not try converting them? In Dele's case, that should be fairly easy, considering that's where he started his career.

In terms of this game, I'm going to assume Tanganga and Dier are out. So, maybe it is time for Jose to experiment with a 343.

If the game gets complicated, put Kane, Son, Ndombele.
If the game is easy, put Bale, Lo Celso.

Sanchez confirmed to start by Jose. :censored:

I see it as a good thing tbh.. lad needs a confidence boost. He's been particularly shaky recently. Not only does this show backing up from the gaffer, but starting against a team like LASK (not to belittle or underestimate them too much) should hopefully help him out.

Hart, Doherty, Davies, Winks and Lamela rotated in.

Bale to get another 20-30 minute run out, as he gradually builds his match fitness. Vinicius to make his debut coming off the bench.

I expect Lamela to start, due to him having a great game against United then not even being on the bench at the weekend. Fresh and in form.

Just wonder if Jose might surprise all again with his line up , when we had Chelsea then Maccabi in three days , Harry didn't start against Chelsea but did against Maccabi, Sonny was sidelined and didn't make the squad for either . Jose will want three points in the bag so he can make certain of top spot early in the group stage and maybe take it easy later on. Wouldn't be surprised if either Sonny or Harry started the game up front .
