Just wondering why Toby gets put at RCB and Dier at LCB. Surely the other way round makes more sense?

Dier has made the LCB spot his own and has played there every game since he moved back to CB, regardless of who his partner is. He's done well there so I don't see any issues with it - why do you think the other way round makes more sense?

Because we essentially play 3 out of possesion with Alder - Dier - Davies. It's because you want the central player of a 3 to have the most pace. If we see Sanchez play then we'll see Dier at RCB and Sanchez at LCB

When Sanchez and Dier played together after the lockdown (West Ham, Sheffied United, etc) Dier still played LCB and Sanchez RCB.

What you said about playing the quickest of the 3CBs in the middle makes sense, although I also think Dier wants to focus on one specific position, and switching between left and right CB won't do him any favours. Hence he's just going to focus on being a left sided CB from here on out.

Well this is awkward. I guess he really values Dier as central his defence.

I understand Bergwijn was taken ill yesterday but meant to start and now Toby is starting instead of Sanchez

I don't think confirmed line ups typically change over the course of a morning mate

thanks for the warm welcome. They do when players show signs of illness overnight. Bergwijn was in Friday, out yesterday

No problem, I was referring to the Toby/Sanchez swap.

I'm not knocking you and welcome to the site, but it's not a good idea to use words like "confirmed" when it's actually not confirmed at all.

If you genuinely have inside knowledge then let the mods know.

Otherwise, speculation without sources just confuses things.

If we're still trying to sell Aurier, it would make sense to start Doherty to minimize any chance of Serge getting injured. Also, Doherty is the better player and Jose will want his best players on the field to help him win.
Mourinho said he's not looking to sell Aurier and wasn't happy with having one RB last season.

I’m happy to share info. I receive a lot of it. But as I’m sure you can appreciate from others on here, things constantly change. I’ll only ever post things that I know are 100% accurate and I can assure you, Bergwijn was ahead of someone else on Friday in the line up

People who have inside info and can be verified by mods, get a blue badge (ITK). I don't know what the process is but worth speaking to the mods.
