Lloris
Alderweireld - Sanchez - Vertonghen - Rose
Sissoko - Winks
Lucas - Ndombele - Eriksen
Kane

Gaz, KWP, Dier, Skipp, Lo Celso, Lamela, Parrott
We had success with Foyth as right back against City's attacking threat previous season, think Toby could do a similar job.

In the training video @spursofficial just put, Lo Celso looks super sharp. Vertonghen & Eriksen in training too.

If Lo Celso is fit, I would love us to go for it against City and start him &Eriksen together. We need ballers against City.

My XI , If Lo Celso & Eriksen are fit enough to start...4-2-3-1

Lloris
Walker-Peters, Toby, Jan, Rose
Sissoko/Winks, Ndombele,
Moura, Eriksen,Lo Celso
Kane

If he is not fit to start, then Lamela for Lo Celso. Winks or Sissoko for me with Ndombele in a 2 man CM

It's a lot to throw him in against City. Their press is super-sharp and the intensity of the game will be so high. Having said that, if he shows Poch something special this week, who knows?

Starting Lo Celso away at City? What a terrible idea. That's just asking for a bad result and a bad first impression of him.

Kane - Lucas
Eriksen
Ndombele - Winks - Sissoko
Rose - Verts - Toby - KWP
Lloris

Hit em on the counter. This midfield will work vs City, TN & MS will actually have space to run into this time (unlike Villa). We're not going to beat them technically, but that side is beatable with pace and power, which we have. A little passing quality from Christian and finishing quality for Kane and maybe we can spring a big upset.

One thing is for sure Poch always sends our team out to win and tho we will have long periods of pressure we will also try to score and this is what I like about Poch style at Spurs .
It may be we get thrashed ;"who knows " but I am sure we will at least try to score and be on the front foot .
West Ham were outclassed and some teams are beaten before they get on the pitch but with us our recent record against them is not the greatest but is usually by the odd Goal when beaten and thats because we seem not to have the fear some teams have when playing against city And they know we are not scared of them.

If starting Lo Celso (provided he is fit & sharp) is a terrible idea, then we shouldn't have bought him ?

Poch has taken some gutsy calls with debutants & players playing new positions in big games.
Example - Giving Ryan Mason debut in NLD, Playing Foyth at RB last season away at City.
So, Poch never shy's away from giving chance to players, if he thinks they are ready.

IMO, if you want to hit them on counter, but only have the pace of Lucas its difficult. Since 2010 we have 1W 1D at Etihad. Both under Poch with contributions from Dele & Sonny. I am not saying your lineup wont work. It would also be my team if Lo Celso is not ready.

My comment is only on basis of 'what if' he is ready. In that case, I would rather put him in the XI and give our self a chance with lack of attacking options like Son & Dele.

This isn't a match to 'go for it' - it's a match to be tactically on point, reduce the space for City to operate/exploit and then look to counter because this isn't a game we can go toe-to-toe so we have to adapt.

Too many times we approach these away fixtures like we haven't been prepared whatsoever and expect us to play our natural game and it's cost us - usually with a fuck up/goal conceded within the first 15.

I'd love Poch to show me something different here but i'm not holding out much hope.

Agree with the sentiment of just going for it but I think we would get battered if we went all out. However it may catch them unaware. I think it would be a baptism of fire if we start him could knock his confidence if he gets shown up from being unfamiliar to the team.

Im not sure about that. Poch can not forsee idividual errors that have happened wuite often in these sort of games. I think overall poch likes us to hit back against any team no matter who. If we let one in the lets get the ball back on that centre spot and go again.....i like that.

City can open anybody up at any time. We will likely have kwp at rb and that will be an area they target. Id even go as far as to think about putting sissoko there as a rwb in a 343 (ideally for me a 4231) with sissoko driving us up the pitch as an outball. That would allow for another cm to come in and increase our physicality whilst shoring up an area of weakness in such a heavyweight clash. Sissoko and rose would help see our wide areas are strong and robust.
How we approach the forward play will be interesting. Going for both lamela AND eriksen would give us more control in our forward play. Eriksen with just kane and moira would be a shorter counterpunch type attack. Id personally like us to have some control and make city work for the ball rather than hitting a channel and seing what we can make of it.

Here is my left field lineup. A tad crazy i know....

-------------------Hugo------------------
Sissoko---Toby-----Jan---Rose
------Winks-------Ndombele------
Lucas-----Lo celso------Eriksen
-------------------Kane-------------------

Make it happen poch!

'Going for it' doesn't have to mean we will forsake all tactics. We could go for it and be tactical discipline. Its not like Lo Celso is new to such big games. After all he was integral part for Betis winning away at Camp Nou last year, instrumental in playing the counter attack and creating many chances in the process. Question for him, is not that stage is big (away at City), IMO, question is , is he physically ready & sharp enough.

He has been in Copa America so he is carrying his core fitness. In his first ever training session, he looks sharper than any player. And he still has 4 or 5 more sessions to go. So, lets see. Whatever it is, I trust Poch him in such decisions.

Think we need to fit in Sissoko in the team, for his overall physicality and non-stop work rate.
I think it’s more important to have control of the football against Coty than a tireless work rate. I’d use Sisokko as a destroyer and danger runner late in the game

It's one thing being fit and sharp on the ball, it's another entirely playing your first competitive game with new teammates you've known for a week (when you can't speak English) away at Man City.

Countering I'd say is more dependent on Ndombele and Sissoko blowing through their midfield lines with their physicality. Particularly Sissoko. We did it to Liverpool and City last year with him already. Ndombele adds another player who can do that.

Rodri will start for Man City and Ndombele for us so why not Lo Celso also if he is available

Because both Rodri and Ndombele have been at the clubs since the window opened, and have played the friendlies. Lo Celso has less than a week in the club.
He could come on at the end of the game, but starting him is madness

Really difficult without Son threat on counter. But I think Sissoko and Ndombele could physically bully them. So I’d player Dier to free them up and Eriksen Lo Celso off Kane so basically 41221
Break that formation down a little more, and you get a phone number

I'm not sure what I would pick, but you can already see how many options we'll have when Lo Celso, Dele, Son and Sessegnon in particular come back. Will be fantastic when we can get everyone back and fit.
And may be a few unhappy faces as well if the cards are not played well
