We do need to start picking up the points in the league after a couple of really poor draws. So we have to pick our strongest side.

I think fitness issues make out strongest side a but unclear right now though. Obviously a fully fit Bale and Lo Celso would make the starting 11 to make it as such but it's not so farfetched to suggest that certain other fully fit players may just give us a little more than them currently.

Lloris
Aurier Toby Rodon Davies
Hojbjerg Sissoko
Ndombele
Bale Kane Son
I wanted to start LoCelso, but having Ndombele, Bale and LoCelso on probably forces our 3 changes.

Hopefully Ndombele can make another 90mins and we bring LoCelso on in the second half.
Looks good. I think teaming Bale and Aurier makes sense, as would Doherty with Bergwijn.

Don't want to see Toby in this match, he gets beaten in the air too easily.

They're big physical side, so matching them to start with is going to be important & it might be a good game to give Rodon a go!

Toby, Sanchez and Dier all do.
Win rate in areal duels is 50% for Toby 53.5% for Sanchez and 61.1% for Dier...

To be fair, CBS tend to have lower stats as they are behind the opponent who can flick on with the top of their head. There are not many better CBs in the air than Dier. Rodon who is supposed to be imperial in the air has similar stats.

I do think vinicius will start tomorrow... Gives us extra height in the box for set pieces etc.

Has there been team news since Friday? Any news on Dier fitness?

This is according to Physio Room:

Reason - Thigh Injury

Further Detail:

Oct 16: "Eric is the only one that arrived with a problem. A problem that maybe - it's still 12:30 on Friday so too early - will keep him out of the West Ham match. Maybe but not definitely."

Whether he won the ball or not a modern player has to know not to tackle from behind when a player is facing away from goal towards the touchline.

He didn't make a tackle
Snodgrass just threw himself to the floor the moment he got in front of him
