Based on his presser last night, I think we'll be seeing a very weak lineup. Basically anyone likely to start vs RBL will be on the bench at best. Good luck putting that lot together!

Although I'd argue the league is the priority now, I think asking Bergwijn/Moura/Dele to go again will just be risking injury.

I don't know where you get the energy to think about this at the moment. I haven't felt this drained emotionally in regards to Spurs, for as long as I can remember.

Even when we were shit at the end of AVB's reign, or the start of the 08/09 season with 2 points from 8 games, I still felt we had a good core of of young talented players to build on. At the moment everything just seems stale at best, more likely regressing in fact.

Overall squad
- players who aren't allowed on the pitch
- players who are otherwise prevented from being on the pitch
- players who can't be on the pitch at the same time (eg. goal keepers)
- players who are totally shit
= if lucky, just about 11 players who can start. Maybe.

Burnley is probably a game where you want the likes of Dier involved for corners & FK's etc., but Jose is going to have to assess him & understand whether what happened on Weds & the media furore has affected him.

I’ve taken a new, slightly more cathartic approach to supporting Spurs after a few years in my life which have realigned how I allocate my stress.

Essentially, I’ve decided that supporting Spurs to me is anyways entertaining, regardless of how good the team is, what we win, what our style of play is, how many players I like etc etc. Much like one watches a soap opera, or commits to an online role playing game, or becomes a gratuitous gambler (but can full afford it), I am here for the rude. My favourite character gets killed off, I’m sad but I’m now immersed in a whodunnit, my quest to find the ether of Lazarus ends in being poisoned by a Martian raccoon goblin, fine now I get to search for a cure, I blow £1k on red but black comes in- well at least I got the rush baby! Spurs lose and have a shit season- well I get to experience that to, the desperation, the pantomime shrieking at Dele to release the ball or Son to shoot earlier, the angst at the latest shit stirring article or debates on her about who is to blame. It may not be ‘enjoyable’ but it’s entertaining in its own way, it’s gripping, its dramatic, it’s delivering, just in a different way to when things are good at the club.

I’ve to roughly 700-800 Spurs matches, and it takes me the best part of three hours each game to get to the ground since leaving London, and at some point I’ll stop going because it’ll be too expensive, or I’ll have kids, or my dad (who’s been almost ever present at home since 1970) won’t be up for it/ able to anymore. When that happens, it happens. So until that point, while I’m still going, I will find entertainment value in everything I experience because of Spurs.

In this style, I just wish Jose would tell one of them (preferably Dele) to play as a proper #9 - hold the ball up, bring others players into play when we (finally) get it, etc. He needs to do it for the benefit of the team. If he can't/won't then bench him and put Toby up there. It's getting farking ridiculous.

PS - please not three at the back anymore. None of them seems to want to take responsibility when we play that formation.

A free cuddly chirpy toy to whoever gets the starting 11 right.
Only joking. No ones gonna get it right.
Will it be 3rd game on the bounce with no winners?
Wonder why we look so disjointed lol.

It’s quite funny jose moaning so much with 3 outfield players out. Because if you actually look at the squad in/outs for 19/20 plus Tanganga we are so much stronger. We lost Eriksen trippier llorente rose plus deadwood and brought in Lo Celso Ndombele Bergwijn Gedson sessegnon Tanganga plus Skipp and Parrott becoming options.

I
don't even care
anymore at this point
to be honest

Definitely think 3-4-3 is the key to getting a result here.

Dunno why everyone is picking Parrott. He was chasing shadows when he came on midweek and looked way out of his depth

Gazzaniga
Aurier Sanchez Alderweiredl Davies
Skipp Lo Celso
Lucas Lamela Berg
Alli

Fixed. Added Hugo to the XI, dropped Gazzaniga to the bench. Vorm out of the squad.

Oh come on. What's this bullshit now? A weaker team against Burnley? Like we're gonna reach the CL final for the 2nd time in a row...

Save Gio, Dier, Aurier, Jan & Sanchez for Tuesday as they played full game plus extra time.

it's not 3 though is it? Sessegnon and Lamela in particular also play in the front 4, but because they can't stay fit (no surprises with the latter even if many love him) the same forwards are having to play twice a week

Think GLC, Dele, and Lucas desperately need a rest if we're to be competitive midweek. Aurier too but we have no one to replace him with (hi Kieran!). Winks fine to be rotated around a bit too. Sessegnon for Davies if he is available but doesn't seem likely. I'd question if Skipp is good for 90 minutes with his limited playing time but he looked quite spritely midweek and deserves another game off the back of that performance.
