If Moore did not start the Cup match - can't see him starting here, unless Werner misses out completely.

Moore will be like most before him - eased in, and building up minutes.
Mine wasn’t a prediction - simply what I hope happens. I expect 6 or 7 changes with Werner, Davies and Forster all starting.

Forster
Gray, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie
Bissouma
Sarr, Bergvall
Johnson, Solanke, Moore

Tough game coming up Saturday, Bissouma needs minutes in case Bentancur gets suspended. These guys should be good enough and it’s a worry if they can’t deal with them.

Problem for me with rotating a lot is that we always end up throwing the stars in anyway because we struggle and we need them to rescue us... I would prefer doing it the other way round.

A strong 11 with a few youngsters/fringe players. Going for early goals... and hope we can take some of the best players off later in the game.

Should we get in trouble with a strong approach, then we can always say that we didn't throw it away. We tried.

It's a fine balance... because we also want to go through and be competitive in multiple tournaments... but ultimately bad results will not do Ange and the team any good. Especially against teams like Coventry, Qarabag and so on.

Nothing is to be taken for granted. Don't belittle the opposition.

Exactly

Potential Subs in brackets depending on how the game goes.

Vicario

Porro (Gray)
Dragusin
VDV (Davies)
Udogie

Kulu (Bergvall)
Bentancur (Sarr)
Maddison (Biss)

Johnson
Solanke (Lankshear/Moore)
Son (Werner)

We are at home. Play strong win well. The time for playing a weakened team is when we have qualified.

I for one firmly believe we should put out a team against Qarabag.
That's my contribution because beyond that I no longer have a clue who will play.
On one hand do we need much of a side to beat Qarabag so don't go strong, on the other hand I want to win this competition so go strong.
I suspect Vicario won't play and we'll start with a similar side to the one against Coventry with the same bench just in case.

We should be saving Biss for league games during Bentancur’s suspension imo.

Should play the same team as Coventry and if they play that badly again, leave them in Qarabag to create new lives.

Just checked to see if there are any spare tickets in my section for Thursday :wideyed:

Looks like I'm going to have quite a few empty seats around me

Wish I could go. I’ll definitely shoot for one of the home Europa games. Just moved back to the UK after nearly 30 years away. Haven’t visited the new stadium yet. Can’t wait.

Would probably start Gray, Bergvall and Dragusin.

Other than that keep a strong team, can't have too many changes. We can always use subs early 2nd half, but we will need more cohesion than against Coventry.

Qarabag are a good side and we will be on trouble if we underestimate them. We need to be serious with our team line-up and build on that Brentford performance. Plus would love to see how Bergvall does with either Kulusevski or Maddison alongside him.

Our development priorities are going to be Gray, Bergvall and Moore so I'd like to see all three on the pitch. The same as others, I'd also like to see Gray in the middle, but I think from a cohesion point of view only one of Bergvall or Gray should start in there.

------------Vicario-----------
Gray--Dragusin--Micky--Davies
-----------Bissouma----------
-------Sarr------Bergvall------
Johnson----Solanke----Moore-

Porro and Udogie can come on if needed, I really think we need to manage their minutes with the lack of backup at LB and Spence being out of the Europa squad. Son and Maddison in an emergency if we need to turn the match around. Werner and Lankshear can come on if we are crusing.

Agree, however that doesn't mean we shouldn't rotate quite a lot. It's more of an attitude question. Players chosen should treat it like they were playing a PL team.

That also stems from the attitude from the top down towards the Cup competitions.

Far too often our managers have taken a piss poor approach to the Europa League and we've routinely flattered to deceive - I sincerely hope this is rectified under Ange.
