We cannot take the Europa League lightly, I’ll be horrified if Forster starts and we make wholesale changes

Vic

Gray Dragusin VdV Udogie

Sarr Bentancur Bergvall

Johnson Solanke Moore

Strong spine with some young talent. Bring on the likes of Davies, Werner etc if the game is safe. We need to stop throwing these cup games and build a winning mentality
This is the team i would start with. Make changes if the games going well.
I would even be tempted to leave Sarr out and play Kulu or Maddison for a bit extra strength in midfield

Dragusin, Davies, Gray, Sarr, Bergvall very likely to start, probably Werner too. And Solanke due lack of options. Hope Vic starts, rest is probably more difficult to guess. Hope Mikey gets the nod.

Watched them twice against Dinamo Zagreb (team that lost 9-2 to Bayern) and Dinamo easily won both games, although Quarabag missed 4-5 great chances in both matches. They have some tricky players in attack but are very shit defensively. We should win this comfortably even with couple of youngsters starting. Could be a huge confidence boost for Solanke, expect him to score at least 2 against them.

Despite those two, they have some decent results in Europe, not naturally this season though they put 9 goals against Bulgarian opponents in two legs so they have goal threat.

They went to quarter-finals of UEL last season and got close to beating Leverkusen there with 2-2 draw and 3-2 loss. Before that they beat Braga 6-5 on aggregate

In the second leg against Leverkusen, Qarabag were leading until conceding two goals in injury time. They played most of the second half with 10 men after Carfaguliyev was sent off. They have a lot of experience playing in European Cup competitions. I think that a lot of posters are underestimating them.

I think wholesale changes are a recipe for disaster. I would make a maximum of three changes to the team that started against Brentford - Dragusin for Romero (enforced), Bergvall for Kulu and Gray for Porro.

Vicario
Gray Dragusin VdV Udogie
Bentacur
Bergvall Maddison
Johnson Solanke Son

If we are leading comfortably, bring on the likes of Moore and Lankshear.

Just checked to see if there are any spare tickets in my section for Thursday :wideyed:

Looks like I'm going to have quite a few empty seats around me

I'm ok with the rotation of one or two in the starting 11, to give some rest and then make other changes when the result is sorted.

Dragusin for either Romero or VDV for example. Or Bergvall for Madders.
What's the point of having a squad if you only rotate 1 or 2 players.

Vicario
Gray Dragusin VDV Davies
Bissouma
Sarr Bergvall
Johnson Solanke Moore

Subs: Forster Porro Udogie Bentancur T Hall Maddison Werner Lanskshear

would have the back 4 play the 90. Solanke and Johnson off after 45-65’ depending on how the match goes, would give Tyrese Hall or other youth a run out if possible

But it didn't and we won both games last week. Now backup players have bit more match fitness and yet again we have to pick two sides most likely to give us two wins. And that isn't one that fields mostly same players on both fixtures.

I don’t know about you - but I would like to win Europa and put 100% effort into this.

I am okay with sensible rotation to open the game (one or two key players being rested). But we should really put in all effort to win this game and get the ball rolling. If we win enough games to qualify the next round, we can always throw in the bench for the remaining meaningless games. But that’s just me.

The league system does allow for margin of error and by extension, squad rotation so would certainly expect to see the likes of Gray, Bergvall and Dragusin make starts.

But I do concur with the emphasis on this competition - certainly when we (most likely) get through to the knockout phase.

At that point, I want us taking this competition as a priority and yes, that does include the league.

3 or 4 changes only please. Romero has to be one of those due to suspension, while it makes sense to start Bentancur in this competition with his domestic ban expected.

Vicario
Gray
Dragusin
VdV
Udogie
Kulusevski
Bentancur
Bergvall
Johnson
Solanke
Moore

If Moore did not start the Cup match - can't see him starting here, unless Werner misses out completely.

Moore will be like most before him - eased in, and building up minutes.

3 or 4 changes from Saturday and gradually bring players on..

Set out to kill the game.

Yes we have a lot of games coming but I think we need to get players slowly used to the changes rather than change 8 or 9 and then have a situation where we need to bring players on to kill the game.

Rest one of Maddison or Deki.
Start Gray and Dragusin.

Perhaps start Bissouma and Sarr.

Aim to get Moore and Bergvall on when we get comfortable.

Expect Bissouma to start in this one.

Benta has played a bunch of minutes the past week and think he’s earned a starting spot at Old Trafford. Biss still needs to earn trust and so I see this as one of his continued opportunities to do so.
Also can’t see Benta’s ban being confirmed and actioned that quickly. Wouldn’t be fair on the club who need to manage minutes.
