Liverpool were able to rest almost their entire 11, AND played a day earlier.

Brennan is the only senior squad member who didn't start yesterday who is not injured or nursing an injury.

Would be very surprised to not see him start.

Who he comes in for is just a guessing game at this point.

At least we might have a stronger bench than last night with Timo back for this one :):):):):) also Mikey could be back on the bench , he is back in training so could figure unless there has been news I have missed.

Same as last night depending on Udogie's fitness. Either way Spence has earned another start whether RB or LB.

Is Liverpool the last game of Bentancur's suspension?

Yes, believe this is Bent’s last match he misses

In the spirit of Christmas, there's no way this isn't an absolute pantomime of a match. Fully expecting a record haul of goals, quite possibly the much-fabled 7-7, but more likely 3-9.

My concern with starting Spence is purely down to match fitness, he could be a little sluggish for this one as Ange has pointed out several times he isn't fully match fit due to never playing. If Udogie is back and fully fit maybe bringing on Spence midway through the second half might be the best move.

But Porro isn't exactly fresh either having been played more than he should have done at this point. He'll start if Udogie doesn't make it. Maybe Porro starts and comes off for Spence if Udogie does make it.

From what Ange has just said , I wouldn't expect Mikey back in a matchday squad until Newcastle

I’ll be a little surprised if Djed starts. Not that he has not earned it, but Ange noting his fitness levels suggests he is not ready to start 3 times in a week without putting him at an injury risk.

A lot depends on Udogie’s fitness.

Managed to snap up a couple tickets for this on member resale, very excited for it but the scoreline could be anything!

If we have fresh bodies coming back with Udogie, Johnson and Werner that gives us a lot more options, especially from the bench. Liverpool score a lot of second half goals so we need to match them in the second half and the strong subs will help.

I expect Ange to select the same line up as for United, but swapping in Udogie and Johnson for Spence and Maddison.

I think it will be:

Big F

Porro
Drag
Gray
Udogie

Biss
Sarr
Maddison

Kulu
Solanke
Son

.

I would like it to be:

Big F

Spence
Drag
Gray
Udogie

Biss
Sarr
Maddison

Kulu
Solanke
Son

Johnson on around 60 mins and move Kulu back inside.

Even if Spence doesn't start I'd love to see him used later on in the game as a direct replacement for most likely Porro. The fullbacks do so much work running up and down the pitch all game for us that keeping those players fresh and a bit better protected should be more of the norm for us really.

Full quote on Udogie

Speaking ahead of the Manchester United cup showdown, the Spurs boss has indicated that Udogie will only play in one of this week's home games against United and Liverpool.

"He's probably the only one we haven’t given a rest to," said the 59-year-old. "He wanted to continue on the night but the game had started well so we took him off. It’s just fatigue and the reality is if he plays tomorrow he won’t play Sunday and vice versa because he’s one of the few.

"We’ve managed to give Pedro a rest on the other side. The full back positions are pretty demanding for us. But Destiny has had to play in Europe because Djed’s not available and since Ben’s been out he’s played every game. So just fatigue."

The fact that Kulusevski is now back to playing on the right (despite it not being his best position) in order to fit in Maddison and/or because Johnson isn't as effective is concerning.

Fuck it, free hit. Target 2 from 2 against Forest and Wolves imo. I’d rest Porro, give Udogie 60 mins or so and bring Reguilon on for him.

Forster
Spence Dragusin Gray Udogie
Bergvall
Bissouma —— Kulu
Johnson ——————— Son
Solanke

Austin, Porro, Reguilon, Dorrington, Sarr, Maddison, Timo/LWB, Lankshear
