It's going to be interesting to see the side Ange picks. The make up of the bench is difficult too but I can't find a place for Davies, Skipp or Los Celso or any of the U21 players apart from Moore.

I've listened and re-listened to a part of Ange's interview on Spursplay and I still don't fully understand the question put to him. It seems to suggest that he won't start Solanke. Any thoughts?

The pleasing thing is that we are now spoiled for choice in most positions unlike last year when the team pretty much picked itself. We now have a wealth of choices with players pushing hard for a start and it's very difficult to pick a starting XI. Those who do get picked will need to impress, that's for sure. We will also have a bench packed with quality and potential game changers.

Starting to have sympathy for managers for whom English isn't a first language because I have an MA in English and I'm fucking struggling here.

A lot dropping Maddison. Just can't see Ange doing it, I think he'll start Maddison and have Deki at RW, and then if it's not working make subs early second half with Deki moving central and fresh legs coming on the wings.

Yeah my team replaces madders with Deki but I wouldn't be surprised if Ange does what you say, although for me it seems a bit daft seeing as he has impressed centrally all preseason.
