That would be the team I’d go for, kulu has had a great pre season but as a winger I think Johnson will create more chances for Solanke.

Maybe, his lack of minutes recently make me think VDV. It’s what he went with tail end of last season and we looked more solid at the back for it.

I really can't envision Kulu not starting, he's been one of the best players in pre-season. Could be over Maddison and then Johnson on the right but I'm fairly confident he'll start.

Surprised by how many have chosen Johnson. Offered nothing in any preseason game that I saw. I'd have Kulu, Werner or even Porro ahead of him.

I didn’t, but it’s probably a couple of things - a reluctance to play Kulu at RW where he disappointed last year and an interest in how Johnson and Solankr combine. Also, frankly, a lack of out-and-out RW options which we’ve discussed ad nauseam. I went for Son and Werner alongside Solanke, and shunted Son onto the right.

I really can't see Ange picking both Kulusevski and Maddison in midfield over the inclusion of Sarr. Maybe if at home, but not sure I'd want to see it away from home in the first game of the season. It just looks too gung-ho to me, especially with Bentancur in there instead of a more defensive midfielder to balance it out a bit.

I think it will be Sarr, Bentancur and Maddison, unless it's a surprise inclusion of Gray or Bergvall.

That might be what Ange goes for but, like many I imagine, I'd put Kulu as an 8 instead of Madders and have Johnson RW
