Judging by his latest comments, I think he'll rotate a fair bit

Think we might see:

Vicario

Porro
Dragusin
VDV
Spence

Bentancur
Sarr
Maddison

Johnson
Solanke
Richarlison

He might use Gray at RB.

I think he said that we are '....quite confident he will be fit for the weekend'.

Suppose there's an outside chance he'll be on the bench tomorrow. Might be playing it a bit cool with the information.

Yeah cheers, just watched it. Definitely sounds like he'll be good for Villa (phew)

I’ll be surprised if Gray and Bergvall are not in the lineup. I think they have started each of the non-league games.

You could well be right. Just think Ange will be careful here, as going out on the back of some poor away perfornances will ramp the pressure up.

Agree on the scrappy goal but we barely mustered a chance in that game .........
True , we were well pinned back couldn't play a high line as we couldn't get near the half way line, our best chance is take it to penalties as long as we don't let Werner take one :)

If Pep goes with a mix of experience and youngster and Ange is sensible with his team selection then I think we can avoid both last years performance and result and penalties :)

Any mention of Son being back for Villa?

(We'll not beat them without him imo)
Sounds like he will be back , just as well it's a Sunday match, extra day for fitness.

Ange: "Sonny, no. Well, he is almost fit, but we will probably from our perspective aim him for the weekend (Villa at home in the Premier League on Sunday). We're quite confident he will be right for the weekend.

Rightly or wrongly, he's really not bothered about perceived fan sentiment towards his line-ups, media comments etc

For the most part I just want more or less a solid back 4. I don’t want to see Davies at CB or Gray at RB, personally. I think we can go fairly strong still in other areas where rotation is an option.

I’d go..

Vicario

porro
Dragusin
Davies
Spence

gray
Bentancour
Bergvall

odobert
Richarlison
Moore
Too many changes. We have to go strong because we have more chance of success in the cups than the league. On top of that the “1st choice “ team should be able to handle 2 games a week.

No match thread yet so I'll post this here, but Grealish, Doku, De Bruyne and Walker expected to be out, along with long-term injuries to Rodri and Bobb. Pretty sure I'm right in saying they didn't even name a full bench at the weekend.

I know they practically have a entire second XI capable of competing for top 4, but I could see Pep going with a heavily rotated team tonight with PL and CL games coming up for them in the next week. If we're serious about this we could have a great chance to progress and get Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea away in the quarter's.

Was excited about this before the Palace game, after that awful performance and Son and Odobert injuries I'm not so optimistic now unfortunately.
