You sure , has he pulled out.

No he hasn't pulled out. I think it was the assumption (which I also shared) that he was not part of the manager's plans after being left out of the Euros. Happy for Pedro and he deserved to be there at the Euros more than Cucurella in my opinion.

Can't see a single mention of Richy in todays team & injury news , assume he is still nowhere near even getting on the bench.
Regards Werner V Moore, Moore obviously laid a big claim for a starting spot with his performence , physically he looks good for a 17 year old but there is always the question of stamina, can he put in the minutes against a Brighton team that will be far stronger than last nights opposition.
Some players like Bale and now Deki can run forever, others who look physically good like our previous VDV , van der vaart could only last 60 minutes in a match.
Ange and the coaches will know the level needed for a PL match, I look forward to their desicion.

I must say I find the whole Richarlison situation a bit odd . Ange said the last week he was no where near ready and didn’t know when he would return .

rumours were he was back doing work on the training field away from the 1sr team .

does anyone actually know what his injury is supposed to be ??
Hardly played pre season and has made 2 brief sub appearances this season .

I don't even know if we should bother playing a defence in this game.

Based on ours and Brighton's way of playing I feel that defenders are a waste of everyone's time.

Actually sod it...rush keepers as well.

injury of we are trying to get him to accept a move away without completely making ourselves and him look back. I bet we are hoping saudi come back in january and with him getting essentially 0 matches this first half of season he will accept that and will take the move.

I think we've seen stark reminders of that second paragraph this season. He's never where team-mates think he'll be when they pass to him and they're never where he passes the ball to. I can think of 2 or 3 examples just from his last couple of appearances where he's passed it to nobody in the box, either between players or behind players. It's either him that's wrong or it's all of them...
Really bugs me when a pile on to a player just becomes completely irrational and resorts to utter untruths. If Werner is ‘never where his team mates think he will be when they pass to him’ how the hell does he keep missing all these 1:1s? His final ball and finishing are plenty enough to criticise without making stuff up

Agreed

He's pretty much always in the right place as a winger.

Agreed with one exception. Last year I thought he hid behind the full back on cut backs but even that he looks to have sorted this year (eg the one against United he was busting a gut to get in front of the full back)

100% this. If anything his positional sense is nothing short of brilliant at times.

The arguments for Werner starting is honestly baffling. He could score 4/10 and many will still argue a case for him starting. Mikey Moore has earned the right. So what if he played Thursday? So did Porro and Cuti.

Totally Agree, he earned the shirt and now someone has to play better to take it off him. If Werner tears it up in training a Moore has a couple of bad games then fair enough but let’s send the right message to the squad.

As much as I’d like to see Moore start, it won’t happen. This isn’t a debate about is he better than Timo. It’s logic that clearly dictates Mikey will be on the bench. If you listened to Ange post presser in midweek, he spoke about the importance of managing the youngster’s minutes carefully. That’s why he played the whole game. To know what it feels like going a whole game at this level. There is more chance of Ange starting at right wing on Sunday. And it has nowt to do with who is the better player. The decision will be based on pragmatism.

Agree - but if we are losing, I think Ange is ready to bring him on around the 60th, as opposed to the 85 minute.

Against United, it was a better performance than Villa away last season.

I remember getting pretty excited though after that game.

Then the following week we went to Fulham, supposedly confident of a result.

They turned us over 3-0 in a horrible performance by us.

This is the real test that Ange has to change at the Club.

Yes we were all loving last week, Micky rewatching his assist on plane home lol

But can we follow it up at Brighton and really start to morph into one of the big boys.....or will it be the Tottenham most wouldnt be surprised by an easy enough day for Brighton....

Thats the challenge that Ange faces if he's to take us to the next level.

And I think he will, roll on Sunday.

It’s not about arguing for Werner to start over Moore but the latter is 17 and just played 90 mins on a Thursday night before the next game on a Sunday. We have to be careful with him. His body is still growing and developing. If he gets a bad injury, like what has happened to players like Ansu Fati and Pedri at Barca, one of the most confident clubs at playing youngsters, then we could derail his career.

With Son & Odobert out, Werner is the most sensible choice. Some are simply making the point that he is still contributing positively to how we play even if his finishing leaves a lot to be desired.
