Everyone putting Biss in . Will he be fit to play ?

few injuries and suddenly no attacking options on the bench . Squad already looking stretched

Aye, looking at potentially both Bissouma and Bentancur missing out. Sarr, Maddison, Kulseveksi CM3 coming up.

It’s time for Bergvall.

He is better than Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison etc

Yes he will have dips and make mistakes, but he is better than them.

This team needs something, and it won’t come from Sarr et al
Is he better than all 3? No, does he deserve to start over 1 of them yes. Like you say he will make mistakes and have dips in form, like all 3 mentioned are currently having in some form.

Let’s not overbuild him too much and not drag him back down when he has his dips.

What I'd like to see, but not realistic:
Vicario
Dragusin Romero VdV
Porro Bissouma Maddison Udogie
Kulusevski Solanke Son

What I'd like to see that's within the realms of reason.
Vicario
Porro Romero VdV Udogie
Bergvall Bissouma Maddison
Kulusevski Solanke Son

^ Porro and Udogie overlapping, not inverting, in both instances.

What I think we'll get:
Vicario
Porro Romero VdV Udogie
Kulusevski Bentancur Maddison
Johnson Solanke Son
(...with Porro and Udogie doing their CM impression thing)

I think we need to change our tactics. I’d go with very high and wide overlapping Fb; a dm that drops in and a creative 3 behind the forwards.

vicario

Udogie
Vdv
Dragusin
Porro

Bentancur/Gray
Bissouma

Maddison
Bergvall
Deki

son/ solanke

This means more ball players on the pitch and better retention and first touch. In attacking Areas Better strikers of the ball closer to the goal rather than the FB. Players off there preferred inside foot in channels better view and ease dor cut backs than fb on their outside foot without as great an opportunity.
A solid pivot that either than drop in or a box defence

I think Ange would start Sarr over Gray - particularly at the deepest CM spot.

Gray is not ready for that - he wasn't ready when he had a small run there in pre-season.

He wasnt playing in a full strength eleven in that position.

Sarr is not always great on the ball, and trying to play through a press under pressure is a recipe for disaster imo.

I can see why the first one is unrealistic…..I’m not sure they’ll let you line up with 12 players.

Not sure why anyone would want Maddison to be dropped. The first goal against Coventry doesn't happen without his brilliant first time, outside of the boot pass into Kulusevski. Madders is not playing poorly and is not the reason that we are not winning games.

The Coventry game was bad, no two ways about it but our performances in the league have still generally been good. The issue we're having is that teams are letting us have the ball and sitting deep. When they do press high on us, we're not moving it quickly enough or finding a decent out ball.

We don't need sweeping changes, although I would also argue that we're yet to play a game this season at full strength:

Leicester - No Bissouma
Everton - No Solanke or Richarlison
Newcastle - No Solanke or VDV
Arsenal - No Bissouma

We have 4 points from 4 games, we should arguably have at least 6, perhaps 10. The Coventry game, however, was so bad that coupled with our slightly underwhelming start in the league, we're all feeling far more concerned than perhaps is necessary.

I personally believe that Bissouma is hugely important to our tempo and that affects how well we attack and maintain control on a game. Sadly he doesn't particularly help us defensively in transition but I thought he looked very good in the 2 games he has played. We need him back. Assuming he's fit then the team picks itself right now:

Vicario
Porro Romero VDV Udogie
Bissouma
Kulu Madders
Johnson Solanke Son

Bench: Forster, Dragusin, Davies, Spence, Gray, Bergvall, Sarr, Moore, Lankshear

Moore needs to start getting minutes. Werner is injured (not to mention Odobert) and without being too harsh, this is a good thing because having him blocking Moore's path is hard to stomach.

Brentford are going to press high and then drop into a low block when they can, trying to hit us on the break with Mbeumo's pace. We absolutely should be beating them but that only happens if we can finish like we did vs Everton.

Agreed. Sarr isn't press resistant enough and I would not feel comfortable having him play in the 6.

Bissouma is far from perfect but he's far and away our most suited player for the 6 role and makes a huge difference in the tempo of our play which has been far too slow when he's not in the team.

I agree, Maddison needs to play. He needs to play further up the pitch though, he was far too deep against Arsenal.

Yeah the moving of Maddison to scapegoat status is weird. He's been pretty decent this season. One of our only actual gifted footballers. We need more like him, not fewer.
