Playing him a a centre forward hasn't helped. If he was playing wide I have no doubt he would be more productive than Johnson

There are elements here that can make the occasion feel tricky, at least initially, but it's the type of game where I feel you can spot who really has it in them. You can see players like Maddison and Bissouma for example are clearly levels above, but you look at Johnson and every time the ball goes out to him it's not resulting in not near enough. He's not willing to try and put his stamp on this game. He should be trying to terrorise their fullbacks.

It's certainly disappointing that as an attacking force we've barely imposed ourselves. I would say it's not surprising considering who's out there, but you'd expect our poorer options to make some sort of impression against such an opposition.
