So we're being taken over by Google - but we won't need their help searching for a new chairman!

Amazing how many people Google 'google' though (serious)
I did that today on the browser search box.
I wanted the front google page so I could do a search by image.
Probably there are better ways to do this, but it is logical to my mind.

You could type '.com' after it, tbf. Or set it as home and use that icon. (Is that still a thing?)

Why would Google want a English football team, I don't see the angle at all.
Sounds like supreme wishful thinking because they have unlimited money

totally agree. And they’re a listed business, how do you think their shareholders would feel about them spending money on questionable transfers etc.?

I think this is super unlikely

It's not happening, so can we move on.

I agree. I’d be absolutely astounded if the sold us. From a business point of view it makes no sense at all to sell with money flying in from the stadium, the loans restructured to a very manageable level and the club continuing to make money.

Plus they’d want the biggest amount a sports club has ever been sold for in the history of sport worldwide. It would be a crazy amount. And then on top of that you’ve got to deal with Daniel Levy. He’s bad enough to negotiate a transfer with, negotiating a sale of his life’s work is a whole different kettle of fish.

The NFL angle may have a bearing on the price and the names mentioned, franchise incoming maybe?

Is all of this Google talk coming from SSC’s post? If so is SSC ITK? I remember someone having a lot of inside knowledge in regards to new stadium etc but wasn’t sure if this was same poster?

Chaps, I don't know whether I have a reputation on here despite my long member......ship, but if I do then it'll be with the likes of @[email protected] as an arch BSoDL. But even I can acknowledge that @Dillspur is broadly factually correct - the club, not ENIC, has paid for the infrastructure so far and is responsible for the remaining debt.

What ENIC have so ably provided is the expertise and drive to get it all done. This is no mean feat if history is anything to go by - Scholar nearly bankrupted the club with his stadium 'improvements' and Sugar tried but failed to get expansions off the ground, for example.

I very much want ENIC to stay as I believe everything they've done has been done in order to allow us to spend like the 'big boys' in a sustainable manner. If they start siphoning money off instead of spending it on further improving the playing side of things (coincidentally, thereby increasing the value of their investment), then I will get the hump very quickly.

They've definitely earnt the chance to have a crack at turning us into one of the biggest clubs in the world imo.
They've earn't the chance, but if they're not gonna do anything about it, cya later

I’m certainly not ITK and the snippets I’ve shared have come through 3rd parties. That rumour is Alphabet/Google takeover with Levy staying on as chairmen and it’s been agreed in principle for a while. They were keen on Jose and Jose knew before he signed that cash was coming eventually.

if you wonder why it’s attractive. We’ve basically built one of the best entertainment stadiums in the world. Think what the o2 has become, the most successful indoor arena globally. Our ground is now a cash cow with the ability to have football and concerts working in tandem in a way other big stadiums like Wembley cannot, removable pitch was a master stoke.

Plus we own so much real estate around the ground and there is a ton of development potential still to come, think how Wembley Way has transformed and you wouldn’t be far off the vision.

NONE of this is direct ITK, just chat that has come my way from people I respect. So passing on it’s pretty interesting, even if ultimately wrong. Herc in the ITK seems to think something is in the wind so appears there is some truth in the general story.

Surely that would be an amazing outcome for the club? I mean the reality is if we sell we always run the risk of getting someone who does not care and will ruin what has been built. However no matter what we think of Levy we can not sit here and argue what he has done for the club this far? So maybe Levy now plus that extra financial backing changes thing!

Maybe the Jose knew cash was coming is why January was never going to be or supposed to bring much in way of new players?
