Easy to think he takes Bryan's spot - but they are both tiny, not sure how his game will translate to bigger/stronger players in PL

Absolutely no way Fichajes got this right. Wtf. 😂.

Kind of interesting in that he is the first pure RW we have been linked to. I don’t actually think I’ve ever seen him start on the left.

Before anything it’s worth keeping in mind that he only recently signed a contract extension and supposedly it has a €60 release clause. Sociedad are in a two way fight with Betis for a EL spot (Athletic are sitting 5 points ahead of them) and there is some suggestion that they may be willing to negotiate the fees for the stars if they were to miss out on qualifying. My personal feeling is they wont budget on the fee if they sell Zubimendi, but I’d be surprised ether way if they budged on it. They certainly want both to stay so it won’t be easy. Or rather, we might need to pay up if we want him.

How good is he in your opinion?

Is he worth paying the release clause in your opinion?

He must have been at yokohama when Ange was there. Went on a half season loan in 2018. Ange was there from 18-21. Played 5 times and scored once albeit at just turned 17 years old

He’s a talent for sure. There’s absolutely no doubt about that. I must say tho there is something about him that I’m not entirely sold on. But at only 22, like Baena he turns 23 this summer, he has a lot going for him and a lot of potential. There is a reason Barca picked him up as kid. I’m not sure if you remember, but there was a scandal about Barca picking him up and putting him in La Masia which he was later forced to leave. It was quite a high profile move at the time as it’s not often clubs like that pick up players from the Asian market. I can’t remember the details but they apparently broke a registration rule so had to cancel their contracts. I’ll need to google the details as I can’t really remember the fine points. He ended up back in Japan tho.

I wouldn’t put him on the same level as Williams who is in my opinion better and a year younger. I agree with @Hercules thst I wouldn’t be paying his release clause. But that doesn’t mean I don’t think he’s a good player. He is.

Im at the pub now, hence my sporadic responses, but depending on my hangover I will try and get a full scout report up tomorrow. If not it will have to be Sunday/Monday. But he is good with a lot of potential, I’m just not entirely convinced he’s £50 million good or suited to the pl.

Not sure I agree with Herc on this one. Definitely looking forward to hearing Ghost’s take on it though.

I’d be thrilled to have him on that right hand side.
