Football aside he always seemed like such a genuine, kind bloke. RIP Sven.

He was a very fun guy, patience of a saint too with our tabloids and their antics.

RIP.

Strikes me as somebody who lived life to the fullest and wasn't afraid of enjoying life, which is a great quality. Rest in peace.

He gave me the smashing of Germany 5-1 on my birthday so will always be grateful for that :D

Sure we didn't win anything under him, but he was a class act human being. Never lost his cool, and got to do the jiggy with Ulrika.

RIP you legend.

RIP Sven. That game in Munich was a highlight and the tune(s) that came from it will live with me until the end of time.

I'd recommend his doc on Amazon prime. Well worth the watch.

The whole media back then were just awful. Waiting for him to trip up at any point. He was disrespected from day one just because he wasn't English, despite his record in European leagues. Made me sick to watch and look back to be honest.

It will never fail to baffle me how anybody gives any kind of shit about the private life of a single adult male, regardless of their status.

Watching it now.

The scrutiny of an unmarried man having a relationship with an unmarried woman is ridiculous.. and was at the time. NOTW was always lowest common denominator coverage, but the mockery of everything from his Swedish accent and appearance to the soundbytes around the shame of appointing a non-English manager is the real shame. Not his private life. What's the point of having a national team, someone says. Crazy.

The Faria Alam interviewer was pretty gross too.

Seems like the whole documentary is going to focus around this sort of stuff. I've got 30 minutes to go.
