No this isn't a thread about Valentines Day but shaping up to be one of the most important 'super sundays' for us for many a year.

Man City vs Spurs
Arsenal vs Leicester

With the fixtures before this game being kind for us and with Man City playing Leicester the weekend before, this set of fixtures could be season defining.

Sorry love, football's more important.

I'm a great believer in that if you do the right thing by your partner you're rewarded with the right result by the gods of football. Having said that we've got a 9 month old baby so romance is lying by the wayside at the moment.

Football and romance certainly go hand in hand. I conceived my first daughter at sometime during the run of fixtures that saw us beat Arsenal and Chelsea in 2010! I just closed my eyes and pretended she was Bale.

Football & romance has indeed always gone hand in hand. It's marriage that gets in the way of it all :cautious::D

As a veteran husband of all but 4 months I agree!

Aww mate, you're still in the honeymoon period :love:. Congrats :) (y)

I'm only on 11 years of marriage, but the best advice I can give you is this... Even if you KNOW your wife is wrong, she's right! (y)

Stick to that one simple guideline & everything will be rosey ;)

I love being married, and I have an amazing wife, so I will naturally treat her to a trip to a remote part of the English coast, splurging on a fantastic hotel room with views over the ocean, and as an extra attention to her, ensure that the hotel has all the TV channels one would need for this ... uhm ... special weekend. :smug:

Awkward one. Especially since im planning a wedding with my missus now.

Sorry love can't be spending money on Valentines date gifts when we are saving for the wedding is going to be part of my speech. The other part will be that I can't go out on a Sunday before work on a Monday.

Probably won't be saving for a wedding after that so it's a win win. ;)

Meanwhile you sit at home watching the game in ultimate peace (y)

I'm coming up to our 21st anniversary, and my wife knows my true love, though she has got used to it by now:ROFLMAO:

we have this understanding when Spurs are playing she's not allowed anywhere near me unless we are losing it sometimes helps us. so many times we have had a good lead or even we are winning in a match and she comes into the room and BOOM, we lose.

Fulham 2-0 up, we lost 2-3
Man C 3-0 up 10 men yep 3-4
Arscum 2-0 up lost 2-5

been quite a few occasions when 1-0 up and in dying mins our paths have crosses 1-1

anyway valentines day is for courting days, not when married, just another commercial time of the year

I'm booking the Monday off for this - getting the beers in.

Sorry for derailing the thread though, as you were with the wedding chat.

My fiance is off to Spain on Friday 12th and I am heading over the following Weds. She apologised for leaving me here on Valentine's day and I was very understanding about it

I'm nice like that

I know right! Thread was suppose to be about how much football take a priority over her indoors not a love in.

Alas clearly all hopeless romantics here. Must be part of being a spurs fan.

Well I'll redress the balance by saying that Valentines Day is nothing but a cynical load of bollocks designed to manipulate men out of money.

Luckily my missus kind of agrees, but I'll just take her and the little'un out the night before to sweeten the deal. (y)
