Abidal, Muamba and now Petrov. Seems are really good guy in football, very sad news.

Sad news, hope he makes a full recovery. No doubt a long road ahead with treatment though.

Just seen my 5 year old God Daughter go through this and it is not nice. She has had three years of treatment and is hopefully over the worst. It is alot worse in Boys as it get into the genitals and requires an extra year of treatment. Good luck Mr Petrov and here hoping for a speedy recovery

Wow. You rarely heard of players getting heavy colds and the last couple of yrs, more and more of them go down with some illness. It's like a monthly thing almost.

"Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) occurs more commonly in adults than in children, and more commonly in men than women. AML is treated with chemotherapy. The five-year survival rate is 40%. Subtypes of AML include acute promyelocytic leukemia, acute myeloblastic leukemia, and acute megakaryoblastic leukemia."
